Some careers begin with skill. Others evolve into purpose.

Based in Newcastle upon Tyne, Belinda Hillman has spent more than three decades in the hair and beauty industry, building salons, mentoring apprentices, and creating educational spaces centered on mindset, confidence, and personal growth.

But her work today extends far beyond hairdressing.

From leaving home at sixteen and beginning life as an apprentice in Wales, to working on cruise ships and later building businesses alongside her husband, Belinda’s journey has been shaped by resilience, adaptability, and a deep belief in the potential of others.

Over time, she realized that technical ability alone was not enough to sustain long-term success. Many learners struggled not because they lacked talent, but because they lacked confidence, self-belief, and the mindset needed to navigate change.

That realization led her to create Belinda Mindset Education Limited during lockdown, a platform focused on helping learners and professionals develop both practical skills and personal confidence.

Through education programs, workshops, mentorship, and The Learners Voice podcast, she continues creating opportunities for apprentices and professionals to feel seen, supported, and empowered in their careers.

Her philosophy is simple but powerful: success is not just about achievement. It is about understanding yourself well enough to help others grow too.
This is a story about education, resilience, leadership, and the quiet power of believing in people before they fully believe in themselves.
