When Lionel Messi moved to PSG, the whole world had their attention on him.
Cristiano Ronaldo was not happy with this, so he moved to Manchester United so he could get some spotlight. But things din't go as he thought. He had a miserable season at United, and dragged them into 6th position outside the UCL spot.
Then he wanted to leave United because Messi was still playing UCL. Bahaved miserably with the club, din't show up for preseason, requested to leave the club. Got rejected left and right by 6-7 UCL playing clubs and again returned to united. The behaviour was not acceptable and got thrown by the coach into the bench like a nobody.
Nobody caused Ronaldo's downfall. He is a type of guy who likes being talked about, who keeps close eyes on his rivals. His ego and obsession with Messi created his own downfall. He is himself to be blamed for the situation he is facing right now. You cant tell me otherwise.
