A message from Katie’s sister, Lauren....

HUGE MASSIVE THANK YOU to Claire Husband and Bling & Bolt Walking Netballers for donating an amazing amount of £570 to go towards the charities in Katie Anne Coxon ‘s memory! So very kind and generous of you all and it is greatly appreciated. I will never be able to thank you enough but this is a huge help towards finding a cure for this awful disease. The money will be split between Brain Tumour Research and The Brain Tumour Charity ❤️

Once again this group of ladies have left me speechless and forever proud to know them 🥰

Just a post to say how proud I am to be part of this group. A wonderful set of ladies who have a shared love of the great sport of netball, but more importantly a loving and caring bunch who have really helped one another through this really rubbish time.

There have been many sad moments for us as individuals since our last physical WN session, equally there has been lovely news for many of the ladies 🥰 but at the core of it all is a compassion and understanding that doesn’t really need spoken between us and for that I will be eternally grateful xx

We should have been coming together this evening, two walking netball groups, to enjoy some social netball.... this is my poem to you all....

We can’t go to the court today
We can’t pull those bibs on,
This COVID thing is quite the pain,
I’ll be happy when it’s gone.

Week on week we get together,
But it has been quite a while
Since we have seen each other
And it feels hard to raise a smile.

We should be playing netball;
Ladies from BOLT and BLING,
With laughter, fun and friendship,
Doing what makes our hearts sing.

The time will soon come round I’m sure,
When we can play once more.
But for now be safe and stay home,
Don’t stray too far from your door.

Be hopeful and be positive
That we WILL soon come together,
Stronger, calmer, full of spirit,
For this moment now is NOT forever.

Some of our ladies will be participating in a tournament on March 8, which just happens to be International Women’s Day 😊 They are indeed amazing ladies who will perform brilliantly and show the true spirit of walking netball.
