Hi everyone, just a reminder there will be no Maranoa Sporting Clays or Surat Clay Target Club shoot held in May due to the Roma S***t Carnival being held on Saturday 16th May 2026, which also includes Event 3 – the Western Zone S***t Championship.

There will also be no shoot held in June due to the Wandoan Clay Target Club Annual Shoot being held from 19–21 June 2026. We encourage everyone to head along to Wandoan and support the club. ☺️

Our next shoot will be our Christmas 🎄 in July Shoot on Saturday 18th July 2026, followed by a Safety Course on Sunday 19th July 2026. 🎄🎯

We wish all competitors the very best of luck and look forward to seeing everyone back at our next shoot soon.

Surat Clay Target Club & Maranoa Sporting Clays wish to advise our members and the wider clay target community that we will not be holding any further shoots for the remainder of 2025.

This difficult decision has been made due to a current lack of available members to effectively run our events.

SSAA FEEDBACK TO SUPPRESSORS POLICY TOPIC

The federal government is undertaking consultation with shooting organisations and other stakeholders regarding the National Fi****ms Register. As part of this, they asked SSAA our position on suppressors (moderators). The media would have you believe the Hollywood fantasies about moderators that somehow they’re able to magically make a firearm go silent. Unsurprisingly, this is far from the truth.

The United Kingdom recently freed up suppressors for use by hunters and other shooters, and they’ve been used without incident in New Zealand for years.

🔫☀️ July Monthly Shoot Wrap-Up ☀️🔫

We enjoyed a great day on the range today for our July Monthly Shoot, kicking off from 10am with a solid crew of 10 nominated shooters. The weather turned it on for us – a crisp morning with a slight chilly breeze and a top of 19°C made for comfortable shooting conditions.

🥇 Overall Winner – Kiwi Morrison (Roma) – 38/50
