The ABR Trails will be closing for the season at dusk on Sunday, March 29th.

We have had great spring skiing this week. We have committed to 3-4 hours of Pisten Bully grooming every morning through Sunday March 29th. We are pleased to say we have had 124 days of skiing with no closed days, and we had daily grooming except for 4 days.

Eric, our Chief Groomer, and Matthew, our Operations Manager, have come to the decision together based upon a variety of factors.

The snowpack is still decent, but our trails have begun to flood near the river in many areas. Our goal is, and always will be, to offer the best trails possible—but with the conditions in the spring season this requires considerable time and effort. Unfortunately, with the warmer weather and with the low skier traffic, it is hard to justify staying open past this weekend.

Ski shop hours will be from 9-12 on Friday, 9-2 on Saturday, and 9-12 on Sunday.

Please remember to buy your season pass for next season either online or in-store. Also, please check out the sales in the ski shop, with up to 40% off. Remember that every purchase helps the foundation and the ski community.

As we near the end of March, we continue to reduce our store hours, with most days closing at noon, with the exception of Saturday the 28th. The back room of the chalet will remain open past ski shop hours. We have had some warm weather and we have more ahead of us, but with nights below freezing, the grooming continues to be first class for the conditions.

Sunday the 29th will be the last day that the ski shop will be open for the 25/26 ski season. Early Bird Season Passes for the 26/27 season are still available in the store and online. Also, our ski shop continues to have 20-40% off on clothing and gear until closing on the 29th.

Don’t forget that this Saturday, March 21st is our Spring Party at ABR!

Come do some spring skiing at ABR! The trails are still open and there is plenty of opportunity waiting for you here!

At this point in the season, we will be reducing the ski shop hours due to low traffic. Nonetheless, the trails will remain open each day from 9:00AM to sunset. For an updated grooming report, please visit our website. If you’ll be arriving after store hours, our ski passes are available for purchase online at https://abrtrails.com/skiing/tickets/. The back room of the warming cabin will remain open after hours. For after hours cabin check-in, please call 906-262-0122.

And, just a reminder, we will be having our Spring Party on Saturday the 21st at the ABR Trailhead! We hope to see you there!

3 groomers out today grooming 65 km of trails. The new snow groomed up well and the woods looked like a winter wonderland. many happy skiers…Sunday there is a snow storm, my belief is we will get 5-6 inches by 10 am and then another 4 or so in the afternoon. We plan to have 3 groomers go out at 10 AM and start grooming, this will give the snow time to accumulate and the storm to settle down? The ski trails and the ski shop and chalet opening will also be delayed 1 hour until 10 am. Groomers will groom until 1 pm or so.
