Tracking calories isnโ€™t appropriate for everyone. Maybe it feels too tedious or it makes you too obsessive or youโ€™re just not a numbers person.โฃ

โœ…It means having muscles that are large enough to give your limbs and torso shape, and having a low enough body fat percentage so that you can *see* the shape.โฃ
โฃ
๐Ÿ‘‰๐ŸผAs a beginner, you can both build muscle and burn fat at the same time: strength train to build muscle, and eat in a calorie deficit to lose fat. Also make sure youโ€™re getting 7-10K steps a day too.โฃ
โฃ
๐Ÿ”ฅBut after a few months, you wonโ€™t be able to both lose fat and gain muscle at the same time - because you wonโ€™t be a beginner any more, and only beginners can simultaneously build muscle and lose fat. And at this point you might see that you havenโ€™t gained enough muscle to get that shape.โฃ
โฃ
๐Ÿ’ช๐ŸผIf that happens, youโ€™d probably need to move into a muscle-building phase to build that shape. This means eating at maintenance or even a surplus for a couple of months, before moving back into a deficit if you need to to lose any fat you gained in the muscle-building phase - which is a normal part of building muscle.โฃ

๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธAlso when I say โ€œsomeโ€ cardio, I mean enough for health. 2-3 30-60 minute sessions per week in Zone 2 would be a good aim. Go look up Jordan Syattโ€™s podcasts on Zone 2 for more information. You can find them on Google.โฃ

๐Ÿ˜ดFinally, take rest days. At least 2 days a week where you just get your steps. This will help you avoid burnout and injury.โฃ
