My last day of work in Winnipeg for a month and my heart is full!

Last year at this time I was teaching yoga on zoom and my boys were doing distance learning from the lake.

For my son Jack who is just finishing grade two, this is his first full year of in class school he’s ever had.

Field trips, assemblies, end of year parties, and outdoor activities. That’s what June should be about!

Thank you to the grade two, three, and kindergarten classes for the memorable day. I had so much fun!

Glitter jars are easy to make and fun for all ages! ✨

That’s a wrap on our Tiny Yogis spring session!

We took our yoga mats outside today and danced, played, and practiced our sun salutations under the sun. ☀️

I didn’t manage to get a good picture of our last class together but luckily my boys and and I did a photo shoot when we were doing a test run of the craft for today.

How cute are these yoga dolls??

Kids Yoga will be returning back to Kazka Dance Collective starting in September. Hope to see you then.

❤️ Alisa.

Today in our kids yoga class we built an obstacle course and played games to build body awareness.

We ended class by making a self portrait and traced our whole bodies onto giant pieces of paper.

Hazel asked for an extra piece of paper to make one of her baby sister. ❤️

Obstacle courses are a great way to develop your child’s motor skills and they are so much fun too!

Get creative with household items and build your own active adventure in your back yard or neighbourhood park.

Jump, stretch, play, and connect with your little one today and watch them discover the joy of movement that will last a lifetime!

Watch Henry’s latest video for a few fun ideas!

Full circle!

These three cuties have “technically” been enjoying many styles of yoga since before they were born!

I met their mom Theresa in 2017 when she signed up for Mom + Baby Yoga with her new born Lincoln. She messaged me two years later to tell me she was pregnant with twins. She joined me for prenatal and then was the first mom ever to bring twins to my Mom and Baby Yoga session. I told her I would help with Wesley and Grayson (which was also just an excuse for me to snuggle a baby) so I got to walk around and teach while holding a newborn. It was the best.

This year when I posted about my upcoming Kids Yoga classes Theresa wrote me and said she was going to sign up the three boys!

So being the super mom that she is, week after week during the dead of winter she rolled into class with her wagon full of eager students. (Did I mention she also has a 15 year old at home as well?!)

I opened my inbox to find this sweet picture last month. Apparently the boys are continuing their home practice and are big fans of downward facing dog.

Come join in the fun! (And maybe get a few tips from these expert practitioners!)

Our next session begins May 11th

10:00 - 11:00 AM
Kazka Dance Collective.

Today my phone opened with last years photo memory of Spider Man Henry and I making yoga videos at Inn At The Forks.

Since I started to teach Kids Yoga I have enjoyed nothing more than having my own kids help me test out lesson plans, try new props, be my “assistant teachers” at the lake and help make videos during lockdown.

Did you know that other than being extremely fun practicing yoga with your little ones has so many benefits.

➡️ Improves body awareness
➡️ Builds confidence
➡️ Enhances concentration and memory
➡️ Improves strength, flexibly, and balance
➡️ Encourages empathy
➡️ And so much more!

We had such a good time at the first session of our new location we are excited to welcome spring with new games, songs, crafts, and friends.

Join us for mindful movement!

Tiny Yogis
10:00 - 10:45 AM
Dakota Community Centre
Session begins March 7th.

Ages 2-6

Children under 2 are welcome to join their sibling for free.

I just have had the most lovely week teaching a whole lot of yoga classes to kids ages 2-13!

We roared like a lion, hissed like a snake,
and got to show off our best dance moves.

After a little energy was burned off we talked about mindfulness, and had a chance to share what we were most grateful for.

Top answer? Mommy and Daddy kisses.

I’m not too sure who had the most fun, me or the kids!

My heart is full.

Fall is around the corner, the season of change. With this I’d like to announce that I will only be offering kids yoga privately for the rest of the 2021 season. (No weekly public classes)

If you would like information on my other community classes you can check out my website https://alisahobbsyoga.com and my fundraising initiative https://m.facebook.com/healingmindshealingbodies/.

Every day for over a year when bath time is over I wrap my son Henry in a towel and he runs to our bedroom and hides under his towel. I pretend to look for him in every room, under the beds, and in the closets yelling “where’s Henry?” Without fail each time he laughs and laughs asking “How did your find me?”

We all need structure. Even the free spirited, spontaneous, and most flexible people you know probably maintain some type of ritual to keep balance in their lives.

The last year has taken our daily routines and turned them upside down.

When the pandemic first hit I knew I wanted to keep our family active, get plenty of fresh air, eat healthy, and keep up with distance learning, but everyday we were just flying by the seat of our pants and many days it was a disaster.

This time around I decided to do things a little bit different. We are now on our second week of home learning and I’ve made a daily schedule that is similar every day. We get dressed in the morning, choose what we are going to do from our learning packages, and carve out time for recess, music class, and quiet time. I even downloaded a school bell tone on my phone to start and end our different subjects.

It is making a world of difference.

Having routines can aid our mental health, help us cope with change, and help reduce our stress levels.
