The VCB Mounties AAA team has started the season … but only two games so far – one win and one loss and 8 runs scored. A total of 38 games remaining so stay tuned!

**15U TRAVEL TEAMS** ⚾️

Second instalment of the VCB Mounties travel team announcements!

The VCB Mounties AAA team is full speed ahead; currently sitting in 8th place with 3 wins in 8 games, with 47 runs scored (4th most runs).

And both the VCB Mounties AA Team Red and AA Team Blue are in the same Tier Two interlock division. The AA Blue team currently holds the top spot with 6 wins in 7 games this season and the Red team has 2 wins in 10 games. Lots and lots of ball to play!

**TRAVEL TEAM NEWS**: 13U AA & 13U AAA ⚾️

Better late than never to name the VCB Mounties travel teams! Starting with our two 13U travel teams … the 13U AA team is underway with a 2-2 record (after a few rainouts ☔️). Colton Yee was solid on the bump in the season opener and Eric Li cranked out a home run on the road at North Delta two weekends ago. Cole Abbott has a 4-game hitting streak 👊and the team scored 8 runs in the last inning they played. Up next: 4 games in the next 7 days!

It’s early in the season still for the 13U AAA team, who has only had one game a 15-8 loss to North Shore.

ANNOUNCEMENT: The tryouts for the VCB Mounties 15U AAA (Bantam) travel team are coming up soon!

Initial tryouts = January 7-8, 2023
Callbacks = Jan 14-15, 2023
Roster announcement = week of Jan 23, 2023

SEASON RECAP: 13U A - Summer Team

The Mounties 13U A had an outstanding regular season going 6-2, highlighted by a win over future 13U A West provincial champions White Rock. Although they did not make the playoffs at provincials, the team finished the round-robin strong with a 19-4 win over Burnaby South/Van Minor.


[Roster:] Aidan Kan, Ben Hall, Casey Marlatt, Emmett Johnson, Jacob Doddington, Jahan Nijjar, Jakson Bozzer, James Newman-Bennett, Nathan Kwok, Nathan McClelland, Peter Brown, Sam Creelman, Bradley Chiang. Coaches: Ian Doddington, Shane Bozzer, Brad Newman-Bennett.

SEASON RECAP: 13U AAA - Summer Team

The Mounties 13U AAA team went 8-5 this season, qualifying for the provincials. They started that tournament with a bang when Nico Siegenthaler won the home run derby at the opening ceremonies, by a wide margin. Even though the Mounties went 1-3 at the provincials tournament they beat the eventual provincial champions White Rock Tritons in the round robin 7-5 after falling behind 5-0, which was the Tritons’ only loss. The Mounties battled hard each game and lost the 3 games by small margins.

SEASON RECAP: 15U AA - Tier 2 Blue Team

The VCB Mounties Blue posted an impressive 29-21 record in the regular season and ultimately qualified for the provincials in a wildcard spot after defeating a Tier 1 AA team (White Rock) and Cloverdale.

SEASON RECAP: 15U AA - Tier 2 Red Team

The VCB Mounties entered two teams into the 15U AA Tier 2 program this season –Mounties Red and Mounties Blue. The Red team, coached by John Stark, finished an impressive 3rd place in the regular season. After a tough 0-5 start the team rallied together, playing solid defence and some offensive highlights to cap a solid season of development and progress, finishing with the second most wins (26) wins in the 12 team interlock division.

SEASON RECAP: 15U A Summer Team

The 15U A team recorded a smokin’ hot 18-4 record, then swept through the provincials with a 6-0 record and finished as Provincial CHAMPIONS, recording 9 homers during the tourney.

SEASON RECAP: 15U AAA

The Bantam AAA Mounties had 49 Wins, 11 Losses and 1 tie on the season; one of the best regular season’s on record for this team. With two 12-game win streaks this team was hot 🔥, hot 🔥, hot 🔥 for most of the season with strong pitching, great hitting and solid defence. The team had a tough loss in the first round of the Provincial Championships … but outside of that it was a season for the ages for the 15U AAA team!

Congrats to all the players and the coaches for a successful season.
