Adelaide Avalanche Ice Hockey Club

3-TEAM TRADE:

The Adelaide Avalanche have traded PHL Champion and MVP Jake Riley to the Melbourne Ice as part of a three-team deal that also includes the Adelaide Adrenaline, the team announced Friday night.

Riley, a forward and one of the most exciting prospects in Australian hockey right now, heads to Melbourne.

As part of the deal, the Melbourne Ice have sent Ryan ‘The Rocket’ Foll back to the Adelaide Adrenaline.

The Avalanche will receive future considerations (including a 4th round draft pick if Foll scores 10+ goals this season). The club has also agreed to pay 50% of Foll’s salary

A spokesperson from the club says -

“It’s no secret that the Avalanche were going to sell hard this off-season. Pretty much anyone not named Darren Corstens - who continues to battle back, knee and shoulder soreness - is a possible trade chip as the AIHL season approaches.

Trading Jake was never going to be easy but knowing we played a small part in getting Ryan back to Adelaide made it a touch easier.”

TRANSACTION: We've traded Steve Best to the Adelaide Adrenaline (AIHL) for one free PT session and the three top buttons from all of his dress shirts.

Last year was a special one - seeing this guy who lives and breathes Adelaide hockey get a well-deserved trophy was a true highlight. We love you, Steve. Go get them in the AIHL!

We promise we'll put those shirt buttons to better use than you.

Transaction: PHL Champion and Defenseman of the Year has been traded to the Perth Thunder (AIHL) for a lifetime supply of single origin coffee from the Yirgacheffe region of Ethiopia.

A spokesperson from the club says:

“We will miss the presence, leadership, and skating of Jamie.

However, Jamie was understanding of this deal, knowing that this blend is renowned for its rich, earthy body, soft spice and bright zesty notes.”

We wish Jamie the best of luck back in Perth with his family. Thanks for your time in Adelaide and all you taught us. We’re big fans.
