My teenage son and I have walked through seasons that tested us deeply. The past three years have asked us to practice perseverance, resilience, surrender, and grace in ways I never imagined. Some days felt like holding a long, shaky pose—searching for breath, balance, and the strength to stay present through discomfort.
But just like yoga teaches us, growth often happens in the moments we want to give up. Through every challenge, we kept returning to the practice: breathing through the hard moments, grounding ourselves in love, and trusting that healing would come one step, one breath, one day at a time.
So this portrait means more to me than words can fully express. Not only because my son is incredibly talented, but because he truly sees me. He saw my strength when I felt tired, my softness when life made me guarded, and my spirit through it all. To be witnessed and honored by your child in this way is sacred.
This piece feels like a reminder of ahimsa—love and compassion—and of the beauty that can grow after surviving difficult seasons. I am beyond grateful for him, for our journey, and for the grace that carried us here. 🖤✨🧘🏾♀️
