DabaPath is a growing organization based in Bangladesh for chess enthusiasts, writers, players and persons who feel a connection towards the development of chess.
DabaPath aims to produce a lot of chess contents both in Bangla and English.

- You LOVE and READ chess.
You follow almost every important tournament.

- You have ‘analysis’ mode built in your brain system, you are eager to dive into the data to figure out what chess fans want and bring that content to them.

What you’ll do :

1. Manage multiple social media of DabaPath (mostly facebook and instagram).

2. Engage with the audience, give feedback to them.

3. Share our contents in numerous relevant groups.

𝗖𝗵𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗪𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀
What you’ll do :

- Create and write contents and provide the doc file to the designers.

- Look for the important tournaments going on (National and International) and write news coverage.

1. Strong understanding of social media content.
2. Basic skill with photo and video editing. (Don’t worry, we are here to help you!)

Boris Gulko holds one of the rarest distinctions in chess history.

A Soviet-born Grandmaster, Gulko became USSR Champion in 1977, sharing the title with Josif Dorfman after their playoff match ended in a draw. After years as a Soviet refusenik with his wife, WGM Anna Akhsharumova, he emigrated and rebuilt his chess career in the United States.

Gulko later became U.S. Chess Champion in 1994 and 1999, making him the only player in history to win both the Soviet and American national championships.
Known for deep positional strength, resilience, and a rare plus score against Garry Kasparov, Boris Gulko remains one of the most remarkable figures connecting Soviet chess history and American chess.

বরিস গুলকো দাবার ইতিহাসে এক বিরল কীর্তির অধিকারী।

সোভিয়েত ইউনিয়নে জন্ম নেওয়া এই গ্র্যান্ডমাস্টার ১৯৭৭ সালে ইউএসএসআর (USSR) চ্যাম্পিয়ন হন। প্লে-অফ ম্যাচ ড্র হওয়ায় তিনি জোসিফ ডর্ফম্যানের সঙ্গে যৌথভাবে শিরোপা ভাগ করে নেন।

পরবর্তীতে স্ত্রী WGM আনা আখশারুমোভার সঙ্গে দীর্ঘদিন সোভিয়েত ‘রিফিউজেনিক’ জীবন কাটানোর পর তিনি যুক্তরাষ্ট্রে পাড়ি জমান এবং নতুন করে নিজের দাবা ক্যারিয়ার গড়ে তোলেন।

এরপর গুলকো ১৯৯৪ ও ১৯৯৯ সালে ইউএস চেস চ্যাম্পিয়ন হন। এর মাধ্যমে তিনি দাবার ইতিহাসে একমাত্র খেলোয়াড় হিসেবে সোভিয়েত ও আমেরিকান - দুই দেশের জাতীয় চ্যাম্পিয়নশিপ জয়ের অনন্য কীর্তি গড়েন।

গভীর পজিশনাল বোঝাপড়া, অসাধারণ মানসিক দৃঢ়তা এবং গ্যারি কাসপারভের বিপক্ষে বিরল প্লাস স্কোরের জন্য পরিচিত বরিস গুলকো আজও সোভিয়েত দাবা ঐতিহ্য ও আমেরিকান দাবার ইতিহাসকে এক সুতোয় বাঁধা এক নাম!

IM Mohammad Fahad Rahman has taken another major step toward the Grandmaster title, securing his second GM norm in Istanbul, Turkey.

But behind the result is a more personal story - one of form, pressure, near misses, and the belief that his best chess is still ahead.

"If I’m being completely honest, I don’t think I played anywhere near my best level in Turkey. If anything, it was at most my average level. I’m not being arrogant or showing ego, I’m just being honest. Praise be to Allah, I still managed to come very close to a GM norm in the 1st tournament, a win in the final round would have secured the GM norm there, and in the 2nd tournament, I achieved the GM norm.

I’m happy that even with my average form, I was able to score a GM norm and come close in the 1st event. Honestly, I think I played much better in 2024. That year I scored my 1st GM norm, played insanely well in the Dubai Global Challenge, had the best performance among Bangladeshi players in the Olympiad, and missed another GM norm by just half a point in Hungary. Even though I played better overall in 2024, I was just unlucky not to convert more norms. Out of 4 opportunities, I only managed to score 1 GM norm, while in the others I missed by just half a point.

Maybe it was more of a psychological issue back then. But I feel like recently, I either don’t have that issue anymore, or at least it’s much less than before. That’s probably why, even in average form, I managed to put together two strong tournaments back to back, because I was playing every game to win, even with the black pieces, in situations where a draw would have been completely fine.

Today I’m flying to Mongolia for the Asian Continental Chess Championship. Let’s hope I can get back to the level I had during the Dubai Global Challenge or the 2024 Olympiad. That kind of form, combined with the improved ability to handle pressure I’ve developed recently, could be a very dangerous combination."

IM Fahad had earned his first GM norm at the Hanoi Grandmasters Chess Tournament in Vietnam in March 2024. He now needs a third GM norm and a FIDE rating of 2500 to become Bangladesh’s sixth Grandmaster!
