Coach T has been nicknamed “Girl Boss” by the Girls Wrestling Team

It’s a great day to be a Cleburne County Tiger! The CCHS Girls and JH team competed at the Wellborn Tournament today, and they had a very successful day! The girls brought home the first team trophy in school history by finishing 2nd! The girls finished with three medalists: Bailey Curvin (2nd), Falon Curvin (2nd), and Layla Poore (1st)! Extremely proud of these girls and the tremendous amount of growth that they have made this season!
The boys JH team brought home a team trophy by finishing 2nd! The team finished with 6 medalists! Medalists: Liam Mays (3rd), Connor Causey (2nd), Cal Shubert (2nd), Noah Scott (2nd), Owen Young (1st), Hayden Norris (1st)
Proud of all that competed today and as always, Tiger Pride!

Oxford Invitational
Congrats to our medalists at the Oxford Invitational: Austen Mayfield (1st), Colton Mayfield (2nd), Harrison Roberts (2nd), Liam Mays (4th), Noah Morgan (4th), and Will Johnson (4th)! CCHS Wrestling would like to give a huge shoutout to the best group of coaches around! Josh Robinson, Tyler Mayfield, and Blair Lacy you guys are the best around! Thank you for your countless hours of work and devotion to this program, school, and most importantly the kids! CCHS is blessed to have you guys! A good day overall at the Lincoln JH/Girls Tournament! The girls finished with three medalists! Bailey Curvin (4th), Falon Curvin (2nd), and Layla Poore (1st)!

Layla is the first girl to ever bring home a first place medal from a tournament. If you didn’t know, she is also the first girl wrestler ever in CCHS history! Awesome day, and a well deserved accomplishment! Very proud of you!

Our Jr High and Girls will be wrestling a tournament today at Lincoln. Tickets will be sold at the door and gofan for $12.00. Wrestling will begin at 9 am.

Congrats to our medalists and placers at the Ranburne Bulldog Invitational. 126 Liam Mays (4th), 132 Bronson Bell (3rd), 138 Jackson Letson (2nd), 150 Austen Mayfield (1st), 150 Ryan Harris (4th), and Will Johnson (2nd). There was a lot of growth made, but still a lot of progress to be made. Number one thing is to get healthy! The Tiger Wrestling Team has done a tremendous job at handling adversity and competing the first half of the season! Remember, it is not a sprint. I look forward to the second half of the season! A lot to be proud of!

CCHS Tiger Wrestling Update: After a week of some adversity, the Tiger Wrestling Team finished the week 4-0. Friday and Saturday they competed in the Gene Taylor Memorial at Weaver High School. The team finished 6th and had 3 placers. Jacob Biggers 106 (2nd), Austen Mayfield 157 (2nd), and Harrison Roberts 175 (4th). As always, it is great to be a Tiger!
