Thomas Paul Rallying

A really good day out yesterday at Lawrence Rally. We drove over some awesome roads and came away with a 3rd in class and 11th over all! Congrats to Jonty and Ian for taking out first and second in the B class battlers. Big thanks to Bridget for sitting next to me and providing some quality yarns for the day. I’d also like to say thanks to Mum, Dad, Liam, Wade, Blake for the help on keeping the car in tip top shape.

Tough day yesterday at the Barry Robison memorial. Unfortunately a small mistake half way through stage 2 left us stuck off the side of the road. A big thank you to the sweeper team for pulling us out and keeping us in the rally! We were lucky enough to walk away with only a little bit of cosmetic damage. We spent the rest of the day battling the car jumping out of 4th gear with the problem persisting for the last 3 stages. However it didn’t stop us enjoying a wicked day out with some awesome roads. Very special to be awarded the Barry Robinson memorial challenge trophey for the first Central Otago Motorsport Club crew home. Big thank you to Terri for co driving awesome job as always and to Mum, Dad and Liam for servicing and keeping us in the rally.

Still buzzing after an awesome weekend away at South Canterbury Rally. The car ran flawlessly all day and I can't thank Dad enough for the work that he has put into the car over the past few months to get it back up and running after Otago. Ceremonial start tonight before we get into the stages tomorrow morning

2023 Otago Rally - SS3 Earthquakes - Thomas Paul / Terri Taylor - EG Honda Civic Thomas Paul Rallying

The highs and lows of motorsport this weekend at the Otago Rally. From a very promising start on Saturday where we were leading the class, to then unfortunately encountering a blown gearbox four stages in. The crew managed to get the spare gearbox into the car in a record time to allow us to get back out for the final stage of the day, the super special around the streets. Day 2 on Sunday we continued to build on how we were going on Saturday morning, and were able to go out and set some competitive stage times throughout the day, with no other issues with the car other than a minor cracked windscreen.

Bu**er gearbox failure 5km into stage 4. We are now working hard to try get the spare gearbox in the car to try make the super special at the end of the day

Otago Rally underway. Has been a massive couple days of recce. Looking forward to getting into the stages tomorrow.

All set for day 2 of NZ Clubsport Hillclimb Champs. Really good day yesterday to be sitting second 2wd and 1st in Class B

Awesome weekend at Fruitlands Gravel sprint and Mt Pisa Road Hillclimb. Managing to get the Overall win at Fruitlands on Saturday. Really happy to go 8 seconds quicker than last year.
