We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. Girls on the Run of the Bay Area provides an innovative running program for girls ages 8 to 13 that uses experiential learning to teach very specific and well-defined social and personal skills.

We're celebrating Sally Ride on this week's Women Who WOW! Not only is Dr. Ride the first American woman to go to space, she is also the first acknowledged gay astronaut. Dr. Ride broke barriers and worked to ensure that girls and women were encouraged to do the same.

We're celebrating Misty Copeland on this week's Women Who WOW! Copeland is a dancer with American Ballet Theatre (ABT). We equip girls with skills to lead healthy, empowered lives, with a hands-on, customized curriculum that teaches life skills and strategies through dynamic, interactive lessons and running games. The program culminates with the girls being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5K running event.
Studies show the program has a long term impact on the girls in self-confidence, developing healthy relationships and feeling good about themselves.
We have two seasons - Fall and Spring. You can get involved by coaching, becoming a running buddy or donating to help us share this wonderful program with more girls in the Bay Area!
