Kelty 4 - 2 Dundee West Royals

Kelty welcomed Dundee West Royals to New Central Park on Saturday in the first round of the Scottish Cup. With previous meetings, Kelty knew how the Royals played.

It was a slow start for Kelty, as the Royal’s forward out paced the centre back from a long kick from Dundee’s keeper. Beating the keeper to the ball at the edge of the box from long ball, he lifts it over the Kelty keeper to put them 1 up. 0-1 Royals.

PENALTY KELTY.
Going one down gave Kelty a wake up call as they answered back 4 minutes later. Harvey McQueen chases after a through ball, beating the Dundee centre back, takes a touch round the keeper just inside the box and is brought down. Jamie Walker collects the ball, puts it on the spot, sends the keeper the wrong way and makes it even. 1-1.

Kelty take the lead with 22 minutes played. After taking control of the game, Aiden Young opts for going long from the goal kick. The ball brought down after the bounce by Harvey, he turns the centre back and is heading for goal. Bursting into the box with ball at his feet, Harvey slots the ball bottom left. 2-1 Kelty.

A slow start to the game but picked up and carried on last weeks form. Having most of the ball in the first 40 minutes will give the boys a boost for coming out in the second half.

Half time. 2-1 Kelty.

Both teams start the second half fast, sharing spells of the ball but both failing to break down the defences. End to end game only separated by a goal.

The first goal of the second half came from Jamie Walker on the 67 minute mark. Once again Harvey beats 2 players but is tackled by the third. The ball falls to Shane Stockdale who touches it past the final defender and Jamie curls the ball past the keeper, Low and hard. 3-1 Kelty.

Kelty are focussed and hungry for more, instantly scoring again. After winning the ball back from kick off, Kelty build their way up the park and Jamie receives a pass up the park. With his back to goal, he flicks it round the corner for Shane to run onto. Shane’s continued run takes him into the box and he smashed it low into the corner. Hitting the inside of the post and hitting the other side netting. 4-1 Kelty.

A minute left to play and Royals win a corner. The ball is swung in and an attempt to clear the ball by Kelty’s centre half, fell at the feet of the Dundee West’s attacker and is poked in. 4-2 Kelty.

Another solid performance from the boys in maroon and the victory outs Kelty through to the next round of the Scottish Cup.

Next we welcome Dundee United SC to New Central Park, in the 2nd round of the Scottish Cup. Kelty will need to give another great performance if they want to advance to the next round.

Kelty 3 - 2 East End United

Kelty’s league opener was sure to be a tough one and what a battle it was. Both sides play excellent football and we’re hunting for 3 points on the board.

With the game underway at New Central Park, Kelty and East End shared spells of the ball. Both teams looking dangerous as the play builds up but the defence com both sides were switched on from minute 1.

Unfortunately, Kelty concede first with 25 minutes played. East End had possession and worked the ball from the back to the front. Quality football on display when their Striker beat two Kelty players and smashed a low driven shot past our keeper.
0-1 East End.

An intense game was then levelled out at the half hour mark. Kelty’s spell on the ball put East End under pressure. East end concede a corner and Kelty flood the box. With recent joy in previous games from corners, this one was to be no different. A driven cross from Jamie Walker was perfectly caught on the volley inside the box by Liam Smith. Liam made his presence known when he riffled the ball him and put Kelty level. 1-1.

The game was end to end in the first half and it made for a very even game. Both teams showing a great example of how football should be played. The two go in level at the half.

Half time. 1-1.

The second half starts just as quick and intense as the first half ended. Two strong footballing sides showing what they can do. Pressure applied from both sides and stepped up another gear.

Both teams looking for the crucial next goal. Evenly matched throughout the game, Kelty struck two on the hour mark. After a solid attack from East End, our keeper collected a shot stopping the strikers attempt. No options to play the ball out from the back, our keeper had a long kick up to the final third. Shane Stockdale brought the ball down with a lovely touch round the defender which Harvey McQueen ran on to. Harvey’s beat the east end defender with 2 touches and smashed a low shot into then bottom corner giving the keeper no chance. 2-1 Kelty.

20 minutes of exciting football was played before East End equalised. Kelty’s back line was split by a pin point pass from the East End striker. East end’s possession and dig paid off. The pass was met by his striker partner who run through and put the ball in the Kelty net. 2-2.

All square in the dying minuts of the game, both teams chase after three points. Kelty hit back for three. After conceding, the boys in maroon stepped up another gear. The passing Kelty were displaying was second to none, which they worked from the back and found themselves in the East End corner. Euan Wallace was in a tight space with men around him, he danced past one boy and dropped the ball off at Fynn Lawson’s feet. Fynn’s low cross was met once again by Harvey at the edge of the 6 yard box. Harvey’s left football volley smashed into the net putting Kelty ahead for the 2nd time of the game. 3-2 Kelty.

Kelty had made it very difficult for East End in the final moments of the game. The boys had to make sure the didn’t concede to secure 3 points. An exhilarating game polished with great intensity and both teams showing their footballing abilities.

Full time. 3-2 Kelty.

Outstanding performances from both sides made a very enjoyable game to watch.

Kelty 3 - 1 Letham SC Blues

It was a very quick start to the game, with a change of our game plan. Kelty score in the first 30 seconds of the game. Beautiful link up play from centre and short sharp passing found Harris on the end of a driven pass from Jamie Walker. Harris’ mis-kick caught Letham goalkeeper off guard after the ball trundled into the goal when it finally come back down to earth. 1-0 Kelty.

Not long after the first, Kelty make it 2. Jamie Walker’s corner was met by trialist, Liam Smith, who bulleted the ball home with a precise header. 2-0 Kelty.

There was chances going begging from minute 3 up until the half from kelty, but just couldn’t compose ourselves in front of goal. Half time.

Half time. 2-0 Kelty.

Second half underway and both teams come out with a different attitude. Letham have switched on and are looking hungry, Kelty have had a wake up call by not scoring after 3 minutes.

Kelty start to get their shape and passing back and are looking for the third. Trialist, Elliot Clarkson, met Fynn Lawson’ss cross with a perfectly timed side volley. The ball was driven low and hard into the bottom corner, beating the keeper. 3-0 kelty.

Letham claw a goal back after piling on the pressure. They were on the constant attack for a spell of the game when their goal came from a corner. Kelty failed to clear the corner and the ball found its way past the bodies into the goal after a deflection. 3-1 Kelty.

Full time. 3-1 Kelty.

Kelty see the game out at 3-1 and collect 3 points going into the final game of the league cup on Saturday. The boys fought well, with a few injuries, but definitely more to give. We build on that performance and take it on for Saturday.

Kelty Hearts 5 - 0 Jeanfield Swifts.

Our second game of cup campaign was one not to be missed. Kelty found themselves 1 up within the first 2 minutes of the game when Spence found himself at the edge of the box and tested the keeper early. Mishandled by the keeper, in the back of the net. 1-0 Kelty.

Minutes later, Kelty piling on the pressure and after a lot of messing around in the box Harvey collects the ball. Composes himself and shifts it onto his right foot to calmly slot it into the bottom corner. 2-0 Kelty.

The game is very much controlled by Kelty in the early stages of the game. Enjoying long possession and zipping the ball around. Kelty constantly breaking forward, Kyle collects the ball outside the area and beats 3 players with some quick footwork, unfortunately his shot was blocked but met my Harris who had an easy tap in to make it 3. 3-0 Kelty.

Half time. 3-0 Kelty.

With the second half under way, Kelty carry on their first half form and control the game. They are enjoying the ball and composing themselves well. Just passed the hour mark, Kyle slips a threw ball into Jamie after running in behind the defence. Jamie settles himself with the ball after a couple of touches and passes the ball low into the corner across the keeper. 4-0 Kelty.

After dominating possession, in and around the Swifts’ box when they gave a foul just outside the area. Jamie Walker places the ball down and there’s only one thought going through the young mans head and that was which corner the ball was going into. Right enough, he picked his spot and lobbed the keeper from a 25 yard free kick. 5-0 Kelty.

Full time. Kelty 5 - 0 Jeanfield.

After making there opening game difficult for themselves on Saturday, the attitude changed and we played the football we know we can. Dominant for 80 minutes, was a great team performance. With three trialists in the squad all adding there bit to the game. Encouraging stuff from all.

Kelty Hearts 1 - 1 Bridge of Earn
Kelty 4 - 2 on Pens.

With a hard time in pre season, Kelty knew they had to turn up and we’re going to be up against it today. Kelty looking more dominant in the first half with a few chances wasted, we kept battling away for the 40 minutes and got our reward. Harris tapping the ball in from a deflected shot from our centre mid.

1-0 Kelty.

Half time. 1-0 Kelty.

Second half got underway with both teams having good spells with the ball and looking threatening. Neither team being clinical and finishing there chances. Bride of Earn hit a fast break on the hour mark and the winger beat the keeper front post to bring the game even. Kelty we’re rattled and looked leggy, took our time to get composed on the ball again and unfortunately ended in a draw after 80 minutes.

Full time 1-1.

With it being League cup, the game went straight to penalties. Kelty won 4-2 on penalties.

** Sponsorship Opportunity **

*UPDATED CARD*
❗️There are only 8 squares left available❗️
There was 2 teams chosen after this photograph!

Kelty Hearts CC 2006’s are looking for a sponsor for a new set of strips for the upcoming season in August.

With the pandemic affecting most business and companies in different ways, we know that supporting local boys clubs would be a big ask for any business after such difficult times in the last year and a half.

However, there is a way you can support them. By buying a team on our football card means you can support our team, with the chance for your business / company’s logo to be on the shirt as our team sponsor. We understand that some companies may not be able to afford to hand out hundreds of pounds to a football club. This method gives the opportunity to all business, big and small the chance to sponsor a football team for a very little amount of money.

How it works / How to get involved.

We have a football scratch card with 40 teams on it, and there is one team name under a scratch-away strip. This team would be the winner of the card and the company / business name who correctly chose the team would be on the front of our strips as our main sponsor.

If you don’t have your own business, you are more than welcome to have a shot at the card. You could put it in your name on the card and we could work something out with the strips.

Squares are £25 and if you are interested in the idea, feel free to message anyone related to the 2006 age group or comment on the post.

If you have any more questions, don’t hesitate to ask. Contact the page or comment and we will be sure to help.

Thank you and we appreciate the support in difficult times.

27/06/2021

With the new season starting in August, we are looking to strengthen our squad. We will be competing in the top league of U16’s league.

Our pre season starts July 16th, and will train Monday / Thursdays and some Saturdays.

Anyone interested in coming along, contact us and we will point you in the right direction.

❤️🇱🇻

19/06/2021

Kelty Hearts CC u15’s are still currently looking for a sponsor.

Win 2 season’s worth of sponsorship for our new away kit. Just £25 for the chance to sponsor 20 strips that will be worn all over Fife / Scotland (Scottish cups)

Our football card still has 8 teams left to sell. Give us a message if you or someone you know is interested. A great chance for small businesses to get their name out there and get their business on the front of the strips!

Share away.

Kelty 4 - 0 Inverkeithing United

Kelty started the game knowing it would be their final game of the friendly season. They started the game sharp and looked hungry. The first goal came in the 6th minute from Lyall who was played through into the box. First touch to beat the defender, the second to pass it into the net. 1-0 Kelty.

Kelty we’re dominating possession and found the net for a second time in the 30th minute. Working the ball from back to front, Kyle picked up the ball just outside the box. Got the ball away from his feet and had a shot from outside the area and the keeper could only palm the ball away from top corner. Our striker picks the ball up inside the box and plays back to Kyle for a second chance and he doesn’t miss this time. Left footed shot curled into side netting. 2-0 Kelty.

Half time. 2-0 Kelty.

Kelty know this game is far from done at this point because Inverkeithing are a very strong outfit and are capable of many things.

Second half is underway and both teams have a short spell of possession. A cross ball from the winger comes into the box and is brought down by Lyall who has found form. His first touch sets him up perfectly to score his second on the day. A calmly placed shot beats the keeper from the penalty area. 2nd for Lyall, 3rd for Kelty. 3-0 Kelty.

Match is even with possession from both sides and having spells of attacking build up. Kelty remain calm and focused as the game continues. On the hour mark, Kelty hit 4. After Inverkeithing’s attack is broken down by the defence, a ball over the top is collected by the striker and held up to bring strike partner Harvey into play. The ball is slipped passed the defence and into the path of Harvey. He drives forward a few yards and sees an opening at the keepers near post, with him closing down. He drills the ball low and hard into the bottom corner to see the game off. 4-0 Kelty.

Full time. 4-0 Kelty.

Another win for the boys and a hard fought one at that. An outstanding team performance against a very strong and accomplished Inverkeithing team who were yet to be beaten since they joined the league. The confidence was oozing today and too a man the boys were excellent. Hard earned victory.

Constant pressure from Kelty paid off when the ball is played through the back line of Glenrothes and swung in by the winger. The striker got 2 sniffs at goal before finishing it. Lyall scoring after a great save by the Glenrothes keeper. 2-0 Kelty.

The 3rd goal game in the 25th minute when Kelty’s midfield pushed high and ran through the defence before setting the striker up for an easy tap in. Harris nets the 3rd. At 3 nil, Kelty still know that the game isn’t over as previously Glenrothes Athletic battled back and keep fighting. 3-0 Kelty.

Glenrothes Athletic claw one back after a corner is crossed into the Kelty box. 3 amazing saves from the keeper, but failed to be cleared by the defence, athletic have an easy finish at the back post to keep the game alive. 3-1 Kelty.

Half time. 3-1 Kelty.

Glenrothes looking the better team for the last 10 minutes of the first half, and come back out fighting the second half. They found the ball in the back after batter our defence and slotted it past the keeper into the net. Kelty failing to clear their lines again cost them a goal. 3-2 Kelty. Game on.

Kelty recollect themselves and pull their sleeves up. They have switched back on after Realising that they were vulnerable. A change of personnel and formation settled the boys down and they played the remainder of the game very composed. Keltys 4th came from excellent movement of the ball and quick sharp passing. Lyall takes his chance and beats the keeper. 4-1 Kelty.

For the fifth time, the Glenrothes Athletic goal keeper is picking the ball out of his net. Going for the jugular and ensuring the game is seen out. Kelty use the width of the pitch to their advantage and pick the Glenrothes team apart. Playing the passes into the space and a through ball to our striker who is unselfish and squares the ball across the 6 yard box for Harvey to slide the ball in with 10 minutes to go.
Kelty’s game plan from then on in was to keep the ball and don’t concede. Keeping possession for majority of the final 10 minutes, Kelty seen the game out.

Full time. 5-2 Kelty.

For the 3rd game out of 5, Kelty have scored 5 or more goals and conceding only 1 or 2. The boys are on a high and they are showing the commitment and determination to go and do a job on the park. Working as a team and playing some excellent football. Job well done!

Kelty 0 - 1 Elgin Star.

Kelty were on the end of today’s defeat and it’s a hard pill to swallow. We started very slow and looked out of sorts. We were getting battered by Elgin through the middle of the park and were getting run over the top of. The only game of the game came when it was a race to the ball between Elgin’s striker and Kelty’s Goal keeper 5 minutes before half time. The striker was first to the ball and toed it into the goal after a hesitation from the keeper. 1-0 Elgin.

Half time. 1-0 Elgin.

Game was full of attacks from both sides but both teams strong in defence and lacking in finishing, the game remained 1-0 for the second half and Elgin kept a clean sheet.

Kelty 5. Blairhall Villa 1.

With Kelty on a high after Saturday’s performance, they were tasked with producing the same performance tonight. And boy did they do that.

First half 1-1.

From the kick off, Kelty looked shaky and Blairhall were very hungry. Kelty were put on the back foot many times in the first 15 minutes but eventually the ball fell for a Blairhall player inside the box and was able to beat the keeper from close. 1-0 Blairhall.

After being battered for the first 20 minutes, Kelty found their feet and composed themselves. They started to take control of their own game and played to their strengths. Looking to create chances, we broke through their back line but failed to convert.
Winning a corner and flooding the box, a crossed ball was played in to our CB Maks, who bulleted the ball into the top corner with his head. 1-1.

Half time 1-1.

With the second half started Kelty looked up for it and were looking sharp. 15 minutes of constant pressure seen Kelty score for a second time. Our central midfielder took the ball for a 20 yard dribble, beating 2/3 players. He struck the ball which was saved and fell at the feet of Jamie. Jamie was certainly not missing that chance at goal. 2-1 Kelty.

5 minutes later, the ball was passed around from front to back and when we eventually broke through the Blairhall back line. The centre midfielder played a square ball across the front of goal which was passed into the goal by Harris. 3-1 Kelty.

Another quick turn around from Kelty seen them score their fourth of the night when Blairhall failed to clear their area from a big scramble. The ball popped out and fell at the feet of our CB Maks who calmly puts the ball in the net. 4-1 Kelty.

With 20 minutes on the clock left, Kelty aimed to see the rest of the game out. Playing with confidence, the ball was almost in our possession for majority of the latter half of the game. Breaking through their back four with a big kick from the keeper, defenders were tiring against our pacey strikers.

In the dying moments of the game, out of no where. Harvey sets himself up for a 25 yard strike that flew over the keeper and under the bar. Beautiful finish from CM Harvey. Final kick of the ball. 5-1 Kelty.

Full time.

Kelty 5 - 1 Blairhall Villa

Apart from the first 20 minutes, Kelty were hungry for the ball and worked as a team. With the hard work at training, we are seeing the rewards. 2 wins on the bounce. Scoring 11 and only conceding 2. Amazing team performance overall.

Kelty 6. Kirkcaldy 1.

With Kelty’s disappointing return to football last week, they had a point to prove and they delivered.

Kelty 3 - 1 Kirkcaldy (HT)
