Most of my meals from yesterday. I forgot about dinner, but I made tacos for dinner and had my taco in salad form with ground turkey, guac, sour cream, chips, all on a bed of greens. ๐
I'm in a fat dropping phase. Why? Well, the scientist and nutritionist in me wanted to make sure I can practice what I preach and produce results with what I know.
So far I'm down 4 pounds in 3 weeks, which is pretty accelerated weight loss. I'm going to do a few more weeks before I switch to reverse dieting, then maintenance for a bit before I go into a bulk phase. You can't build muscle without fuel. ๐
Anywho, just thought I'd share what my food looks like. A lotta veggies!! I build my diet around fiber and protein, but am flexible and will fit dessert and other things in as I want. It's not about eating less, but about being strategic about what you eat. ๐ Fiber and protein are filling which means I'm not hungry even though I'm eating in caloric deficit. Totally customizable based on what you like eating too, so if this doesn't speak to you don't think this is the only way to drop fat! I'm actually having fun being a product of my own education! ๐

Guys, if you're trying to lose weight, drop fat, adopt healthier habits, then let's talk about drinking your calories. This is the biggest habit that if changed you'd begin to see results FAST! If you are drinking full sugar sodas or energy drinks (or even creamers and sugars in your coffee) you are putting back 150-250 calories of PURE SUGAR. It won't fill you! Straight up, it's a treat and should be treated accordingly. If you need to ween off this habit, switch to diet or zero calorie drinks and save your calories for your meals. ๐
Since we're on the topic of drinking calories, let's discuss smoothies. Smoothies can be a great way to pack a lot of nutrient dense foods into a meal. I have my clients who are trying to bulk (gain weight) drink some of their calories in smoothie form. Why? It's easy to get 500-700 nutrient dense calories down in a few minutes. ๐ฎ
It's easy to put so much into your "health drink" that you end up with a very high calorie drink. Remember, a smoothie is a MEAL, so treat it accordingly. Be wise about your smoothie intake, and if you can, opt to chew your food instead of drink it. You can go slower and recognize your satiety signals better when eating slower and chewing your food.

M O V E M E N T LIFE HACK:
Having a hard time making movement a priority? Instead of going out to lunch or coffee with a friend/coworker/etc, schedule a walk or hike together! It's a great way to visit while making space for movement that doesn't feel like a chore. Eat before you go, or after, but make the activity movement.
Got to do a great hike with my bro which was both therapeutic mentally, emotionally, and physically.
