Tough fight but came up short today.. 3rd place wasn’t the goal but it’s what we walked away with. Not too bad for a team who lost two players, haven’t been playing AAU ball or practicing together normally since last summer.

Jesus Acosta
#15 - PG/SG
8th Grade Connelly Middle School
Coach D: “ When I first met Jesus we were at a middle school football meeting. A couple of days later he came to try outs and he came out ready to hustle. I’ll always remember the very first drill I had him do… defensive close out. He showed me and everyone else on the team just how determined and coachable he would be from that point on. I’m beyond proud of the strides Jesus has made and proud to see him put in all the work he has. His positive attitude, heart and hustle takes our defense to another level.

Uriah Ross
#4 - SG/SF
8th Grade Connelly Middle School
Coach D: “ As soon as I saw him I knew I wanted him on the team. He has a great worth ethic, he brings leadership, loads of energy, strength and most importantly lots of humor to the team. The potential for Uriah is through the roof and I can’t wait to see how much he continues to quickly improve. I’m a very lucky coach to have Uriah raw and coachable early on. I look forward to as many seasons possible teaching this young man and have no doubts that some college will be lucky to have him on their team.

Coach D: “ Coaching my son is one of the hardest and amazing experiences I have ever felt. It’s difficult not to smile when I see him playing great cause I have to keep a “coach face”. He’s one of the smaller guys on the court but he plays like one of the biggest on defense and there is no quit in him. It’s an amazing feeling getting to bond on the court with him like I did as a player with my dad and teach him as he gets older cause I know my time is coming to an end the older he gets. I’m greatful for the moments and opportunity and I’m beyond proud of him.”
