Today I accomplished one of my biggest goals and I’m feeling really proud! Running an Ultra marathon has been on my bucket list for awhile and I DID IT! Setting an event goal can be a great way to stay on track with your movement goals. I’m most places it’s easy to find everything from 5ks to marathons!

It was a LONG run training day for me today and I wanted to share some wisdom. Sometimes when endurance training, we should program our sessions in time instead of distance. This was particularly helpful for me today as my body was tired from teaching strength training classes. Instead of obsessing about how far I had to run and what pace that meant, I chose to focus on time on the trails. Save your distance/pace goals for days your body is well rested and ready to tackle that challenge! Keep moving your bodies and remember that every step counts!

What an amazing two days! This weekend along with 6 friends old and new, I tackled the Rainier Ragnar Relay at Crystal Mountain. I ran a total of 27 miles (spread over 5 different loops) and can’t wait to do it again!
