Unit 21 update: while the build downstairs keeps rolling on (compressor room, retail counters, filling station), upstairs is coming together too.

The office is up and running, and next in line are the training room, lounge area and service centre, all still very much in build, but taking shape.

Every corner of Unit 21 is slowly turning into In The Blue Scuba. Bit by bit, room by room. Thanks for following along with the build, more updates soon! 🌊

ROLLER SHUTTER TO SHOPFRONT! 🌊

Walls up, shopfront in, and the build is flying. But here’s the thing, we’re not waiting for the paint to dry to get you in the water.

We’re already open and operating from upstairs while the new space takes shape below. Courses running, kit sorted, air fills flowing. Come see us now and you get a front-row seat to something being built from the ground up in Lymington.

🔨 While James was poolside this morning running confined water dives, work carried on back at the unit.

And the difference is really showing now. The stud walls are going up and for the first time you can actually see the layout coming to life: the retail space, the training area and all the working areas behind them.

A few days ago this was just four walls and a roller door. Now it’s starting to look like a dive centre. Slow and steady, but every frame that goes up gets us closer.

🌊 This is what it's all about.

While the build work carries on back at the unit, today James was poolside putting one of our students through confined water dives on an intensive Open Water course. Mask skills, buoyancy, the lot, all in one of the prettiest pools you'll find anywhere.

This is exactly why we're building In The Blue Scuba. It's not about the walls and the kit, it's about getting people underwater safely and confidently and being there for the moment it all clicks.

Huge well done to our student, Martha today. Next stop, open water. 🤿

🔨 Day two and the build is already underway.

We didn't hang about. The first stud walls are going up, the saw's been running all day and there's sawdust everywhere, which is exactly how we like it.

It's early days and right now it still looks like a building site, but you can already start to see the bones of the place taking shape. Every one of those timber frames is the start of a wall that'll help turn this empty unit into a proper dive centre.

We'll keep sharing the journey as it goes, warts and all. Plenty more to come.

🔑 It's official. We have the keys!

On Friday In The Blue Scuba got the keys to our new home at the Lymington Enterprise Centre (Ampress). This is the moment we've been working towards, and it feels brilliant to finally be standing inside it.

Right now it's four walls, a roller door and a whole lot of potential. Over the coming weeks and months we'll be transforming it into a proper dive centre: a retail space, a training base and a home for our community of divers here on the south coast.

We're going to take you along for the whole ride. The good, the messy, the "why is nothing ever straightforward" moments and hopefully plenty of wins too. Watch this space.

First breaths underwater, big smiles above.

Two more Try Dive certificates handed out at our pool session this week, and both of them took to it brilliantly.

Discover Scuba Diving is the easiest way to find out if diving is for you. It runs in the pool with a PADI Professional beside you the whole time, all equipment is included, and it is open to anyone aged 10 and over. No experience required at all.

If it clicks, the Try Dive counts towards your PADI Open Water course.

Three certificates, three new divers, one very good afternoon.

Huge congratulations to this group on completing their Discover Scuba Dive with us. They went from first breaths on a regulator to swimming confidently around the pool in a single session, and the grins say it all.

Our Discover Scuba Diving experience is a relaxed introduction to diving in a heated pool with a PADI Professional guiding you throughout. All equipment provided, no experience needed, and it credits towards your PADI Open Water course if you decide to carry on.
