Interim JKFA Committee Acts; Meets Jammu Football Clubs and Academies
Just a day after being deputed by interim JKFA, to handle day to day affairs of J&K football, till an elected body is constituted for DFA Jammu, members of JKFA committee from Jammu went into action mode, without wasting any time adapting to new and challenging responsibilities.
The members, namely Former DFA President and JKFA Vice-President Sh. Kuldeep Singh, Sh. Moon Madan Stephen and Sh Arun Paul Singh called on the clubs and academies of Jammu district to chart out the immediate course of action and thereafter briefed the office bearers of clubs on the soon to start registration process. Clubs were also briefed on the AIFF CRS system and its immediate and long term benifits. Opinions of those present were taken on the fee structures and formats of different district leagues in Jammu.
It was unanimously decided that league structure in Jammu would be altered hereafter with two divisions of senior leagues called Elite Division and Premier Division which were earlier called A Division and B Division Leagues. Moreover, previously known C Division will be dissolved to be replaced by two new youth leagues of Under-13 and Under-15 age groups to broaden the league structure of Jammu. The youth leagues will follow the latest AIFF pattern of Youth leagues with 7v7 games for U13 and 9v9 games for U15 age groups.
Prospects of women's and veteran's league were also discussed along with introduction to much trending baby leagues.
Some club officials openly and freely expressed their resentment against prevailing situations in Jammu football wherein players have been suffering at the hands of certain sections of stakeholders who are more focussed on power rather than football and its rekated aspects. Even though all the points raised by clubs were duly heard and noted, committee members made sure that the meeting remained apolitical and focussed primarily on the agendas related to football.
An announcement was made about the forthcoming U15 football tournament in Jammu and entire football fraternity was invited for a seminar on Roadmap of development of football both in Jammu and other districts at 4:30 pm on 1st July, 2023.
Venue of event will soon be shared with all the stakeholders of Jammu
Sh. Moon Madan Stephen closed the meeting with a note of thanks to all the club members for making themselves available on a very short notice. Other senior members like Sh. Mohanlal ji, Sh. Feastus Sotra, Sh. Saudagar Mattoo، Sh Bharat Bhushan and many others were also present on the occassion. Some new clubs, waiting eagerly since past few years, were present to proudly join the registeration process for the coming season.
At last a prayer was organised in memory of the mother of Senior Referee and Coach Dil Bahadur Gurung and for the betterment of football in Jammu and in entire J&K.
Committee members assured the clubs and academies of effective and trasparent working towards a common goal of football development. Committee members also thanked JKFA General Secretary Prof. B. A. Shah and Sh. Nazeer Andrabi for entrusting them with a big responsibility.
