Often it feels hard to get out there with Caiden and do the activities that other typical families enjoy. I have so many “reasons” why we can’t do xy or z. I have a laundry list of why I should play it safe:“There won’t be wheelchair accessibility.” “People will stare.” “Caiden will cry.” “Where will we change his diaper?” Etc. All of these seemingly reasonable thoughts lead to inaction and isolation, which eventually lead me to despair. The passing of has inspired me to seize the day and make the most of the days I have left. It’s funny how a change in perspective can make the obstacles seem less daunting. If I have less days ahead of me than are behind me, then I want to make the most of it! I want people to see that Caiden’s life and our life as a family is BLESSED not cursed. Our challenges have made us stronger and closer to God. We must rely on His providence more because of the limitations we face. I’m so glad we got out there and discovered the joy of just showing up!!! God is truly good and alive! .pasture.unicorns
Caiden turned 10 this week! 😭My little boy is not so little anymore. I put together a two-part reel to reflect on the last 10 years of our lives together. What stood out is how relentlessly joyful my child is! Regardless of his health and disability, Caiden’s joy prevails! What a true gift he is to this world! And what an honor to call myself his mom. 🥹 I hope these videos bring you smiles and help you persevere in whatever challenges you currently face! God bless!
There is something irreplaceable about an in-person experience! I am so grateful for the on-line technology that has sustained me in the times of unavoidable isolation of special motherhood, but nothing beats the connection of a face to face gathering. I am better in person and so are you! So get off your computers/phones and go experience the power of the Holy Spirit present in the gathering of the Body of Christ! “When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place.”

Lent Day 2–Thank you all for your kind messages and comments. Caiden is doing well and so am I! ❤️Rereading one of my favorites. Mother Teresa reminds me of who I am ministering to when I care for my precious boy! I don’t have to travel to the slums of Calcutta to come face to face with poverty. I can see it in myself when I fail to recognize the gift my son brings me in all moments, including the mundane. Forgive me Lord, when I try to run away from you in these ordinary moments that seem repetitive, unimportant and inconsequential. I know you, my Jesus, are in the small things. You are in the details, not the devil. You love the beauty of hospitality in the details of the everyday. May I and all revere you in the littleness and hidden aspects of life!
‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me.’ Matthew 25:40

It’s back…this time for Lent! I love teaching Christians how to stop struggling with their crosses. If your cross feels too heavy or your suffering feels too painful, come learn how to lighten your load! Read on: Starting March 24th all the way until April 28th(skipping April 21st Easter Monday) on Mondays at 7pm EST, via zoom, I will be walking participants through each of my 5 steps to alleviate/eliminate needless pain from your cross. If you ever wondered why “offering up” your suffering has not been alleviating your pain this course is for you. What if you’re offering up pain which you can choose to renounce and avoid in the name of Jesus? And what if you could clean up your cross of all unnecessary pain and baggage, making it “easy and light”? Or at the very least, not impossible to carry?
Sometimes, we unknowingly add more pain to our unavoidable sufferings in life. I should know, I did this for years. Especially when I became a mom of a child with profound disabilities. My constant worry about the future and resentment over my “predicament” made my cross impossible to carry! So much so, that on many occasions, I left my cross on the side of the road and indulged in the “baggage” of distraction and vice instead. Or, I would carry my cross with great reluctance, making it way harder than it needed to be. Wouldn’t you like to stop white-knuckling Christ’s call to take up your cross and follow him?
