Passing of a legend in mountain bike development. Making this brand the Lamborghini of the bike world in 90s 00s,
So glad I have had the chance to ride and own these top bikes !
The passing of Cannondale co-founder and industry icon Joe Montgomery, last Friday aged 86, has reignited memories of a brand known for delivering some of the quirkiest hits. Montgomery was considered a pioneer, known for his creative ideas that pushed the boundaries of bicycle design at a time when everything looked the same and followed a cookie-cutter design philosophy.
Together with Murdoch MacGregor and Ron Davis, Montgomery founded Cannondale in 1971 in a rented space often referred to as the ‘lab’, located above a pickle factory across from the Cannondale train station. This would later become the rhetoric behind the company name, and Halo Lab71 nomenclature now affixed to the brand's top models.
To celebrate Joe Montgomery's legacy and unwavering commitment to pushing the envelope in bicycle design and technology, we've listed 10 of our favourite Cannondale design innovations and bikes.
What are some of your favourite Cannondale memories, bikes, or innovations?

The Parachute Regiment is today mourning the death of Lance Corporal George Hooley, who died following a tragic accident in Ukraine.
LCpl Hooley was 28 and was observing Ukrainian forces test a new defensive capability, away from the front lines.
He joined the Army in November 2015, attending the Infantry Training Centre in Catterick where he completed P Company in June 2016 and joined the Regiment.
Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer told the House of Commons: “I’m sure the House will join me in sending our deepest sympathy and condolences to the family and loved ones of Lance Corporal George Hooley of the Parachute Regiment, who died yesterday in Ukraine.
“Lance Corporal Hooley was injured in a tragic accident, away from the front lines, while observing Ukrainian forces testing a new defensive capability.
“His life was full of courage and determination. He served our country with honour and distinction around the world in the cause of freedom and democracy, including as part of a small number of British personnel in Ukraine.
“I place his name on record to express our gratitude and respect and to affirm that his service will never be forgotten.”
Lance Corporal Hooley was due to promote to Corporal in January 2026, and as such, was trusted with the responsibilities of a Corporal on this, his latest, deployment. Lance Corporal Hooley had previously deployed to Afghanistan, Africa, and Eastern Europe.
His Commanding Officer said: "Lance Corporal Hooley’s future within The Parachute Regiment was incredibly bright, and I have no doubt that he would have continued to perform at the very front of his peer-group over the coming years.
"All members of The Parachute Regiment mourn his loss; however, our sorrow is nothing compared to that being felt by his family, our thoughts and prayers are with them at this incredibly difficult time."

Yes, more people like this in the world that care about the next generation of cyclists and sports in general.
We’re in the The Sunday Post!
The 7 Stanes in 7 Days half term family adventure we recently supported with Tracy Moseley has made main stream media! We couldn’t be more excited to see this inspiring story reaching even more people across Scotland and beyond.
In the article Tracy mentions that Toby was disappointed that his school friends really didn't understand what he'd been up to over half term and gives her views on why that is. This project, and the very reason we got behind it, was a fantastic chance to showcase the kind of adventures families can enjoy together by bike, while highlighting that children don’t need endless stuff, just the freedom to explore, the love of cycling and the great outdoors.
Huge congratulations to Tracy, James and young Toby for sharing such a powerful message Adventure doesn’t have to be complicated, just get outside, explore, and make memories together.
A massive thank you to all of our project sponsors who helped bring this vision to life and amplify its impact:

Risk vs Reward:
reaching a goal in life is great success, but when you reach a goal you always want to push further, never happy with what you have done you seek more again and again, so your foiled by your own success.
When there is no goals left what you going to do.
