Celebrating a bootcamp night out. It just goes to show you can maintain what you’ve achieved but still having a social life 💪🏻

Last year me and Justin went on a bit of a bulk to build as much muscle as we can. Here are mine and Justin’s bootcamp results of our cut 💪🏻

Details for the may bootcamp will be out soon

Photos from JD Fitness's post 19/02/2024

Well today sees the official ending to our very first bootcamp, it was that good everyone has said they are gutted it has ended. I just want to say that everyone who did the bootcamp absolutely smashed it.
There’s been lots of laughs along the way and nobody cried (even though they might have wanted to after seeing the first and last weekly challenge 😂😂) They even managed to hold a plank for 5 minutes.
We set out to make this boot camp to be realistic, we didn’t set silly restrictions just a realistic calorie and protein target. A daily/weekly step target and we wanted to make it fun but hard work. We made sure every session was different, which most of the people who have done the bootcamp have said that was the best bit about it as no two sessions were the same. We also had a fun side to it with mini games at the end of a Friday session, Team Jo vs Team Justin making a big finale with a race circuit and other mini games.

Here are some the best bits and some of the before and after photos all together the group have lost 11stone 9lb between them. 💪🏻

Look out for the next bootcamp which will be starting in may (details will be out soon) 👀👀

Which photo would you say I’m the heaviest on?? Probably the 1st one right? Well in fact I’m heavier on the 2nd photo by 1lb (I’m 8st 12lb on the 1st pic when I finished slimming world 🙄 and I only did classes and cardio) and 8st 13lb on the second pic when i prioritised resistance training I concentrated on building muscle.) this is why I always say you can’t rely on the scales alone to measure your progress.
Make sure you’re taking measurements, you’re taking regular pictures you could even go by a pair of jeans that don’t fit you yet and keep trying them on every month or one of my favourite is to go by how you feel if you feel good why ruin it all by going on the scales?

This past year me and Justin went into a bulking phase (he was better at this than me 🙈) going into a slight calorie surplus so we could build as much muscle as we can. Since January 3rd this year we have gone to the cutting phase (fat loss) as you can see we’ve changed quite a bit in just under 6 weeks.

If you are looking to lose fat
1) track your calories on myfitness pal, make sure your in a deficit.
2) prioritise protein have at least .8g per lb of body fat.
3) don’t completely cut out the things you love (80-20) 80% nutritional foods and 20% what ever you like.
4) get your steps in aim for between 7,000-10,000 steps per day.
5) exercise at least 2 times a week.

Happy new year everyone. Now is the time to start thinking about what you want to achieve this year, whether its fat loss related, muscle gain, fitness or even something else for example job related here are a few tips to achieve them goals.

1) make sure it’s realistic, so for example don’t set yourself the goal of losing 5 stone in a week, it will only dishearten you when you can’t achieve it.

2) split the goal up, so say you want to lose 2 stone, split it up into half stones so you can keep motivated. Or if you goal is to achieve 10 pull ups split it up into 2s it just keeps you motivated along the way.

3) Don’t rush it, especially for weight loss, don’t try looking for a quick fix, detoxes, pills, smoothie, soup diets don’t work, in fact you’ll find it will take longer to achieve your goal as these sort of diets are not sustainable long term.

4) Think of what you’ve got to change to get to your goal (you won’t change if you don’t change), but little changes make a big different, so for example can you drink more water or have no sugar fizzy pop instead of full sugar fizzy pop, or instead of adding oils to your foods can you swap it for fry light.

5) Go smash 2023 💪🏻

13/12/2022

Carrying on from the last post (it would only allow me to upload 1 video) Justin’s goal was to get to 100kg in his chest press he had spend the whole year progressively overloading and eating in a slight calorie surplus so he can keep building the muscle and progressively get stronger. Well done Justin, you smashed it. 👏🏻👏🏻

13/12/2022

We are coming towards the end of the year. What were your goals? Did you achieve them?? If not why not what got in your way.

Mine was to get more depth in my squats, squats have always been one of my weaker lifts and it would frustrate me when I couldn’t even get to 90 degrees, so this year I’ve spend more time working a bit more on mobility spending time at the bottom of the squat with lighter weight I did have a bit of a setback in august when I hurt my shoulder so I couldn’t do back squats but I changed them to a goblet squat instead and as you can see I’ve got more depth in my squat, I know it’s not the best of views but the first video was about a year and half ago the 2nd video was today.

Spend the time now to think about your goal for next year start thinking about what you want to achieve and start preparing now. 💪🏻

Just a big shout out to one of my clients. Alison has been with me for almost a year now, her goal was to get more of the toned look, we stick to the same program for at least 4 weeks, no fancy new exercises we don’t change and do something completely different week by week and now you can definitely see the difference in her back. Well done Alison you’re absolutely smashing it 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💪🏻
