Race report from sunny Croft 🏁

Had an absolute blast this weekend at No Limits Racing.

I came into the weekend thinking that I would be right at the back as I had to race in the Club Sport Cup class which is the step above the novice class I ran at Anglesey last year where I was lucky to be in the top 20.

Friday test day was a great start to the weekend, learning the track and going quicker in every session.

Qualifying was great, I had no idea where I’d end up and stuck it in 10th place in class out of 18 - 16th overall.

Race 1 was okay, a little timid into turn one cost me a few spots and with it being a shorter race i struggled to make time back up. P11 in class - 16th overall.

Race 2 I started 18th and had a better start and kept my nose clean bringing it back in 10th in class - 13th overall.

Race 3 was fantastic, started this one in 17th and got a great start, was up to 13th by turn one. I managed to get to a good pace early on and settled in with some bikes in different classes, dropped down to 14th and then up to 13th by the last lap when I was in a race with 3 riders in front. I was running on empty after a full weekends riding but decided to give it my all and made 3 positions up on the last lap to take me into the top 10 overall and 8th in class.

Considering I thought I’d be at the back this weekend to have 2 top 10 finishes and an 8th place with consistent new PB’s in every race has made this weekend one of the best I’ve ever had whilst racing. My confidence is so high right now and can’t wait to keep it going.

I have a 6 week gap now until my next meeting at east fortune and to be honest, I’m looking forward to the break and spending some time with family.

Just want to give a massive thank you to Liam Hanson Racing #62 and all of the guys and girls in the Royal Navy Motorsport awning for having me this weekend. I have had the best time and can’t wait for the next no limits at Knockhill 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿😄

Back from another great week at the North West 200.

I was on the other side of the fence this week and it was great catching up with all the boys that made the trip over in memory of my dad with me and also seeing a lot of faces in the paddock who I haven’t seen in a long time.

My thoughts and condolences are with the family and friends of Kamil Holan after his accident on the Thursday morning, our sport can be so cruel.

My attention now turns to this weekend as we are back at East Fortune for the Tom Dickie meeting - my aims are just to have a good weekend and hopefully improve on my PB again, however the weather is looking a bit suspect 😕☔️

Race weekend 2 done ✅

Weekend started with a collapsed bearing on the outlap of practice which put me on the back foot for the weekend as I didn’t know if I’d make it back out on Saturday but thanks to the two chief mechanics we managed to get out for qualifying.

I struggled to get a good feeling in qualifying and finished 15th out of 25 (P7 in class).

Race one was similar to qualifying, struggled to feel comfortable and knew I was capable of more heading into Sunday. P13 (P7 in class).

Onto Sunday and felt much better - managed 5 laps in race 2 that were better than my PB around east fortune which I was over the moon with. P10 (P4 in class).

The last race of the weekend was extended to 12 laps and having struggled with arm pump in the last race I knew it was going to be a tough race. Got a good start but as usual struggled to get to a decent pace in the first two laps so dropped back a few positions. Once I got into it I made up some overtakes but by the time I got to where I wanted to be, everyone infront had cleared off so it was just about trying to manage the arm pump and put in some good laps which I did, my last lap of the race was a 1:05.1 - over a second faster than my PB going into the weekend. P11 (P5 in class)

Overall a really positive weekend and continuing my run of setting personal bests every weekend, I know there’s still so much that I’m capable of and I can’t wait to get back out and continue to improve.

Cold but dry start here, busy day ahead with 1 practice, 1 qualifying and 2 races after lunch.

First of many race reports 🏁

First round of the year started out brilliantly on the new GSX-R wet bike we had for this season - feeling wasn’t great and track had dried to the point where dry tires probably would have been the call so decided to bring it in which meant I started at the back of the grid - P16 (P6 in class).

Race 1 - Made the decision to go with the trusty Triumph which I feel at home on and knew I had to be punchy off the line and overtook 4 bikes going into turn 1 before a red flag early on meant I had to restart at the back of the grid.
Another quick start and I passed 3 bikes this time going into T1, on lap 6 I set myself up for a move into the hairpin for P10 (P3 in class) but red flags came out and was called a result so had to settle for P11 (P4 in class).

Race 2 - Race 2 was a lonely one, 1 position gained at turn 1 and 1 position inherited after the rider infront getting a 10s penalty due to a jump start so we finished P9 (P2 in class 🏆)

Race 3 - Started strong in race 3 and set a new PB round knockhill on lap 3 and then had a monster moment going into Duffus nearly getting flung over the handlebars and having to go through the grass. Lost 2 places but made them back finishing P8 overall (P2 in class)

Race 4 - Started P8 for this race and got the worst launch off the line of the weekend, dropped a few of places and sat P4 in class at the start of lap 2 but made two overtakes that lap to make up for my poor start - rest of the race was fairly lonely, finishing P9 (P2 in class)

Overall a great weekend to get back into things and setting a new PB round knockhill. Still loads of room for improvement but happy with how the first weekend went and the 3 trophies picked up along the way 😄.
