We are going to start this by just simply saying thank you. Lenox Baseball fans, thank you for showing up Every. Single. Time.
This season has had many highs, and our fair share of lows, as we navigated playing a tough schedule each week. Tough teams are made by tough players though, and we saw a great amount of growth and toughness as our season progressed. We became one and played for one team and one goal all the way to the last pitch.
Seniors Laramie Stoaks and Dawson Evans, there are no words to describe how valuable your leadership and commitment to this program can be measured. You are THE examples that we will hold on a pedestal for years to come, as your work ethic was second to absolutely none. You poured your heart into this team and program for five years, and you should be real proud, because we are beyond proud of all you have accomplished (94 wins too). Senior Cade Cordell came out this year unexpectedly and contributed in ways beyond any stat book, keeping the morale high at all times and showing the underclassmen what hard work looks like each day. The heartbeat of our dugout and any rally. We thank you three for everything you have given to Lenox Baseball.
We battled in conference, and played a tough non-conference schedule. 7 of our 11 losses on the season came against #1, #2, or #3 ranked teams in 1A/2A. Ultimately 19 wins is something to hold our heads high on, and especially when it included A SECOND District Championship in back-to-back seasons.
A huge shoutout goes to all of the people behind the scenes for handling the miscellaneous things that must be accomplished for our season to go as smoothly as it did. Those include:
- Our players and coaching staff.
- Our administration that is always committed to making things happen for us that benefits the program and our kids.
- AD Mandy Stoaks for the chaos of scheduling absolutely every little aspect of our game schedule and season.
- Our ELITE trainer Kelsi.
- Pafford Lawncare for Aleck’s continuous pride in making our field look pristine.
- Clint Crill for his work in field prep and sprinkler maintenance. The guy does it all.
- Nurse Jen Miller for running the absolute BEST concession stand in SW Iowa.
- Jenn Evans and Amanda Petersen for always taking care of the random small things. Seriously, life savers.
- Our JH program and staff of coaches being Coach Johnson, Horton, and Crill.
- Bus driver Larry for always getting us to our games and the extra inning game late nights.
- Mr. Nardini for being the best PA voice in SW Iowa.
- Lastly our parents and fans. For being the best, ALWAYS.
Another shoutout goes to KMA and KSIB for always doing a phenomenal job of giving our student-athletes the positive recognition they deserve throughout our entire season. Your work to make this happen does not go unnoticed.
This team is full of youth that gained valuable experience, led by some of the best to ever do it in our program. We will absolutely continue to hold the standard of Lenox Baseball high and stay hungry. See you next spring..
Again, simply thank you.
