⭐⚖️ Sport or Education? ⚖️⭐
⛵ This week's blog is all about the balance between sport and education. As many know, professional athletes must make many sacrifices for their sport. There is no one better to explain this balance than Varsha Gautham, from Varsha // Sweta Sailing Team India, who is a 2x Asian Games medallist by the age of 20 🥈🥉. Not only this, she also has a strong education and is currently sitting her final exams for her college course!
This blog is a must-read for anyone who needs to balance their sport and education, alongside their supporters who would like the gain an insight into how this balance can successfully work!

🥈Silver at the Asian sailing championships
We fought to be selected for the Asian Games and won, only to be told that that wasn't the case. Disheartened is an understatement. The policies are twisted and unfortunately Sweta and I don't have parents in the federation.
As you know, we have run a privately funded campaign with much difficulty for the last year, and have been very happy doing it outside the bounds of the system. But why should we strive for excellence for the wrong people to claim glory?
Why should we strive for excellence only to be told that it's not good enough by the people who had nothing positive to do with our journey?
It is understandable that some systems cannot be changed, but written policy atleast must be followed.
Our word to authority is this-
"If you cannot support, please do not shatter"
We may not make it to the Asian games, but we will not stop until every stone is left unturned, and every person brought to justice. It may not work in time for our cause, but if this does not change and change soon, India will lose more athletes, more medals and more humane people than it already has and that would be a damn shame.
We are extremely grateful to all the wonderful people who have supported us and helped us! Even small words of encouragement mean a lot. We love you and are extremely thankful! ♥️
