Congrats to the Greenwood County 10u All stars on their 28-0 win over Easley to clinch the district championship. They will play for the upper state championship in December.

The Greenwood 10u all star 🏈 team will face off against Easley Thursday at 6:30 pm at Greenwood High School. Five Ware Shoals kids are a part of this team. If you’re not doing anything stop by GHS and support these kids as they try to bring home a district championship.

Our fall sports season is in the books ! Thank you to the Ware Shoals Youth Association for hosting a fun party for our kids. Our fall sports signups were way up this year, and we look forward to them being even higher next year.

Football and cheerleading fielded 2 teams for the first time in 4 years. 20 kids from our football teams were selected to represent Greenwood County in all stars. Our 8u football team finished first among Greenwood County teams, going 4-0 against teams from Greenwood and Ninety Six.

Our two volleyball teams both had fantastic seasons. Three girls were selected from the WS Stingers and WS Lady Hornets to represent Greenwood County in all stars. The WS Lady Hornets finished 2nd overall in the entire league, losing in the championship game to Ninety Six.

Our fall baseball team - the WS Braves - won their league championship with a 6-1 regular season record and a win over Ninety Six in the championship game.

Basketball is right around the corner, and we look forward to another fun filled and successful season for our future Hornets !

Our fall sports season in Ware Shoals has concluded.

Participation this year was nearly double from our numbers from 2022.

22 kids from Ware Shoals were selected to represent Greenwood County in all stars for football and volleyball.

Our 12u baseball team - the WS Braves - won their league championship with their victory over Ninety Six last Thursday night.

Both 12u volleyball teams had winning seasons. The WS Stingers season ended in the playoffs, and the WS Lady Hornets made it to the championship game, falling short to Ninety Six.

10u football fielded a team for the first time in 4 years. They earned a victory over McCormick, and fell just short in losses to Greenwood, Ninety Six, and Abbeville. Their season ended Monday with a playoff loss at Greenwood.

8u football fielded a winning record of 5-3, finishing #1 in Greenwood County, and number #3 overall
in the league. Their season ended Wednesday night with a close loss at Abbeville.

Our Honeybee Bowl football game was a huge success again this year, with our kids raising over $8,000 for Christmas is for Kids for underprivileged kids in our community.

Our Showcase in the Shoals football jamboree in august was also a major success, with Ware Shoals hosting 20 teams from all over the area - Woodmont, Hillcrest, Iva, Honea Path, Belton, Laurens, Greenwood, and Abbeville - for a day filled with football, fun, and food at Riegel Stadium.

The future is bright for the purple and gold ! Thank you to all the coaches, players, parents, officials, and volunteers who stepped up this fall ! Now on to basketball ! 🏈📣🏐⚾️🐝

WS 8u Hornet 🏈 defeats Ninety Six in the first round of the playoffs by a score of 34-6. They move on to face Abbeville Wednesday at 6 pm at the Pete Smith Complex in Abbeville. Please come
out to support these kids as they try to beat the defending champs and secure a spot in the championship game.

It is also a special night for us to honor our future Hornets with WS Park and Rec Night. Please be sure to wear you jersey Parks and Rec Hornets for FREE Admission! In addition to honoring our future Hornets, we will also be honoring a past Hornet Coach Tommy Davis! Congrats to the WS Lady Hornets 12u🏐 team on their win tonight over the Ninety Six Extreme 27-25, 25-19, 15-12.

The Lady Hornets play the Ninety Six VolleyUp tomorrow night at 6 pm at the Larry Traynham Center. Both teams are undefeated, so the winner will finish first in the league for the regular season.
