How lucky are we?!

We GET to train—whether it’s first thing in the morning, on a lunch break, after work, or even late at night. No matter when you move, it’s a gift.

Sure, some days you might drag yourself to a workout. That’s normal. But what if you flipped the script? What if, instead of “I have to do this”, you told yourself “I GET to do this”?

This morning, as I swam long, I watched the sunrise through the windows. Then I soaked in the hot tub, Phil Collins playing in the background, watching others push through their own workouts in the pool. It felt magical. ✨

Every session is an opportunity. Every workout is a privilege. How lucky are we?

WHAT’S UP?? WATTS UP!!⚡🚴🚴🏽‍♀️

It’s something I started shouting in my spin classes years ago—totally by accident—but now it’s a staple! 🔥

Spin classes can be an awesome way to build bike fitness, especially in the winter. But once outdoor season hits, don’t forget to get outside for handling skills, shifting practice, wind resistance and that real-road feel!

💡 Pro tip: If your spin class mimics real outdoor riding (no dancing on the bike, sorry SoulCycle fans 😆), it can be a game-changer for your training!

Do you use spin classes to stay sharp in the off-season? Drop a ⚡ if you’re all about that WATTS UP energy!

FOLLOW THROUGH!

Do it for the after feeling! That satisfaction of knowing you showed up, pushed through, and got it done—no shortcuts, no excuses.

The success of completing something YOU committed to when you were fully conscious of making a decision to go for a goal. Our minds can be tricky little pesks wanting to hold us back. Don’t fall into that trap!

This training day I had on deck:
🏃🏽‍♀️ 9 Miles w/12x400 @ 6:10 pace + 1 mile at 6:49
🏋🏽‍♀️ Lower Body/Core Strength
🚴🏽‍♀️ 20 Min Recovery Ride

Some days, the motivation isn’t there, but discipline gets you through. What’s one thing you committed to today that you refused to skip? Drop it below! ⬇️

Unpopular Opinion:
You don’t need to do a Half or Full Ironman to call yourself a triathlete.

Long course might be where you thrive—amazing!
Short course might be where you thrive—also amazing!

As a coach, I want my athletes to train and race in a way that fuels their passion, fits their lifestyle, and aligns with their goals.

If you love short-course racing, own it! You can train smart, balance life, and get faster—without feeling pressured to chase longer distances just to “prove” yourself.

If you’re new to triathlon, spend time building a solid foundation across swim, bike, run, strength, nutrition, and recovery. Shorter races still demand strategy, and mastering them can be just as fulfilling (and fast!).

And if you do go long? Make sure your why is strong enough to carry you through the heavy training blocks and the inevitable tough moments on race day.

No matter the distance, triathlon is about pushing yourself, finding joy in the process, and racing your way.

➡️ What’s your favorite race distance and why? Drop it in the comments!

The real reason we went to Montreal!!! 💚🥰🙏🏼
I surprised Nandish for the first time he crossed the boarder with his GREEN CARD with this festive decor and USA music playing, then my family had a surprise celebration at Jessie’s Birthday Party. SO THANKFUL!!!

Do you train your mind as hard as you train your body?

Mental strength is just as important as physical fitness in endurance sports. Do you give yourself positive reinforcement in training and racing? Do you actively work on your mindset like you do your swim, bike, and run?

One of the biggest things I teach my athletes is how to cultivate a 🌟winning mindset🌟. It’s not just about talent or training—it’s about the way you think. I’ve spent the last 17 years studying, practicing, and refining mental strategies that elevate performance. When I started endurance sports as an adult, I quickly realized that my mind could be my greatest asset—or my biggest limiter. Now, I coach my athletes to harness their mental game for stronger, smarter, and more confident racing.

How do you train your mindset? Drop your favorite mental strategy below! ⬇️

Do you LOVE or HATE the treadmill???

I LOVE MY TREADMILL!!!

POV: Imagine hating me and I’m just over here blowing kisses to my treadmill
😂🤣😂🤣🤪🤪🤪

Okay in all seriousness, even though I advocate for getting outside daily and as much as possible. There are SO many health benefits to this. I do run outside in all weather. Especially when the salon I work at has a snow day!!! You best believe I’m running in the blizzard 🥶🤪 … and I love the extreme heat too! I’m weird!!

BUT I do REALLY love using the treadmill as a tool for focused training! You can set the speed and incline to your workout details without any fuss of traffic, cars, dogs😰, extreme weather, a potty desert. Okay you get the point here! It’s a great tool to help you train for your specific goals while building mental toughness.

There’s no right or wrong choice as long as you’re getting it done!

From the slowest on my high school XC team ➡️ to taking the Overall Female Win at the Cupids Cup 5K! 🏆🔥

8th Overall (including the men!) and proof that hard work, consistency, and a growth mindset can take you further than you ever imagined.

Fun fact: Running never came naturally to me. I was a dancer my whole life, dabbling in other sports, but on the cross-country team? I was dead last.

What did come naturally? The discipline of long training hours - something I carried into endurance running and Ironman triathlon training. Over the years, I’ve fine tuned my training for speed, proving to myself that PRs aren’t just for the naturally gifted—they’re for the relentless.

I believe in bettering myself so I can better my athletes. Leading by example is my coaching philosophy, and I’m here to help YOU chase your next big goal!

What an unforgettable 5K Race day experience! It’s moments like these that remind me why I love coaching!! 🤩

Huge congratulations to Sarah for her incredible results today! 🏅 1st place in Age Group, 5th Female Overall, and 1st Overall Masters Female! 👏🏼🤩

Watching Sarah make progress week after week has been rewarding to see. As a coach, there’s nothing more fulfilling than seeing my athletes push past their limits and break into new levels of fitness!

Thank you to all the volunteers and Fleet Feet for organizing such a wonderful race that celebrates the love holiday with so much joy! Winter ❄️ running may be tough, but it’s exactly what we need to build strength for the spring season ahead! 🌸

Adapt and make it work FOR YOU!

A training plan is a guide, not the only way or else all fails. When working with a coach, they can help guide you, explain the benefits of training a certain way and adjust your plan so that it still works for you when life gets crazy!

Most of us have full lives outside of training. We have partners, families, house responsibilities, work, other hobbies, a social life, etc.

So how do you make triathlon and run training fit within your already busy life and not overtake your life???

Having a coach who understands the full picture of your life can help with this!

I find it important to learn more about my athletes as the human being they are, not just as an athlete. Yes, our athletic training is the focus of coaching but by thinking of them as a singular athlete lifestyle only would be a disservice.

As a triathlete or runner how many showers do you take per day??? 😂

With multiple workouts per day, I get gross! I’m on average at least 2. Pool showers count 😎
