Remember Datesfreedom, one of the 3 horses that ended up on the auction pipeline near the end of the meet last year? Well look at him now 😍 We are so grateful that Stall 13 Thoroughbreds was able to take him on! And guess what? He’s headed to the 2026 Thoroughbred Makeover! But they could still use your help! If you’ve ever thought of sponsoring a horse for the Makeover, now is your chance! And we think this horse will truly shine down there! Datesfreedom has officially made it to Stall 13 Thoroughbreds! We are all so incredibly grateful for all of you who helped make this happen!

But he still needs our help! Stall 13 is completely funded by donations at this point as they are too young to qualify for larger grants, so any amount can really help! Thank you, from all of us involved, for all of your continuing support ❤️

He’s on his way up to Stall 13 Thoroughbreds in Lansing (Ithaca), NY from Kentucky. His hauler is currently stuck/detoured due to the storm plaguing the North East. He looks alert and in good spirits, but he’s going to need some vet attention and more blankets when he finally arrives. He will also be in quarantine in a separate barn that will require his own straw bedding and extra hay! Here we are again. Three horses from Finger Lakes, Don’t Poke the Cat, Financial Stability, and Dates Freedom, have been found down at Bowie Livestock auction with ship to slaughter dates. All 3 were purchased by the same couple from the track who was extensively vetted by multiple trainers. We don’t have the details yet as to exactly what happened, but we are hoping to network to find them safe places to land so that we can start fundraising. So, please, share, network, anything you can so that we can help get these incredible boys safe and home for Christmas!

It has been brought to our attention that just 10 days after he was purchased from his trainer at the track, after it was promised he would be a forever horse to her daughter to do trails on, the woman who bought Wine Responsibly traded him to a known kill buyer for another horse.

Please, if you can, help us get this sweet boy out of the auction pipeline.
