CHAMPION 🙌🙌

Massive well done to Conor Lowry who won the Irish Cadets championships, in the National Stadium, Dublin earlier today.

Conor boxed a strong, determined, come forward attacker. Conor utilised his skilful footwork, picking his man off with solid shots as he attacked. This resulted in a unanimous victory for Conor.

Conor is now the Irish Cadet Champion. We as a club are unbelievably proud of not only Conor but also his achievement.

Conor is pictured below with coaches James Reynolds and Chris Rea.

It’s been a busy week for our East Down Boxers 🥊

Cahán McCartan and Daniel Keenan made their debuts at Camlough Gaa club as part of Camlough boxing clubs end of year show.

Cahán boxed a very determined southpaw, in which he came under intense pressure in the first round however coming back strong in the second round, landing some terrific right hands and eye catching one two combinations. This made an even playing field for the third round. Cahán dug in and showed great determination and successfully came out victorious on a spilt decision. Unbelievable work Cahán👏.

Daniel was up next for East Down. Daniel boxed a strong hard hitting orthodox boxer. Daniel stuck to his game plan, utilising his strong left jab, which rarely missed the target. He scored consistently with heavy head shots, which resulted in his opponent taking a standing eight count towards the end of the second round. Daniel brought this consistency into the third round which again resulted in a standing eight count against his opponent. Daniel won on a well deserved unanimous victory, brilliant work Daniel👊.

Dan Greene boxed an exhibition match at St Joseph’s hub Belfast on a Newington ABC show and by all accounts would’ve came out clear win. Super work dan 💪.

Mica Patterson also boxed in the national stadium in Dublin last night, competing in the Irish Cadet championships. Mica boxed a stylish rangy tall opponent who unfortunately was able to neutralise Micas attacks despite his best efforts throughout the entire match, never dropping his head and keeping it competitive. Well done Mica 🙌.

Lastly, best of luck to Connor Lowry who is boxing in the Semifinal of the Irish Cadet championships in Dublin tonight. Go out an smash it Connor 🥇
