Our gradutaes Savannah.
Savannah Green began her ballet journey at the age of two, training in local children's academies before dedicating herself exclusively to the rigorous study of the Russian Vaganova method at age six. In 2015, she joined the Ave Maria Academy of Ballet under the direction of Artistic Director Maria Monica Koo, a graduate of the prestigious Kirov Ballet in Washington, D.C. Through this elite training, Savannah developed a profound mastery of the Vaganova technique and a deep appreciation for its discipline. Ave Maria wasn’t just a ballet studio, but a home and a sanctuary. She found peace and light each class wherein her ballet and life skills could grow.
An accomplished performer, Savannah has danced numerous leading roles and variations with Ave Maria Academy, including Swanhilda in Coppelia, the Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker, Odette’s variation in Swan Lake, and soloist roles in Chopiniana and Paquita. Her artistic abilities extend to choreography; she has had the privilege to set the Swan Lake scene for the Pickwick Players' production of Anastasia and choreographed original pieces for Ave Maria’s production of Fairy Garden.
Complementing her eleven years of training at Ave Maria, Savannah was selected for a competitive summer intensive with BYU Ballet Director Ryan Hatch (Principal Dancer at Utah Metropolitan Ballet), where she expanded her repertoire into modern, character, and jazz, alongside masterclasses at the American Ballet Theatre.
Savannah is equally passionate about teaching, drawing inspiration from her mentor, Miss Maria, who instilled in her the importance of fostering a loving, supportive studio environment from a young age. Having assisted Miss Maria as a young ballerina, Savannah discovered her lifelong calling as an educator, carrying forward a legacy of instruction rooted deeply in love for both the art form and the student.
Savannah continues to study ballet at BYU while dancing professionally with Ballet Etudes Company in Idaho. She plans to share her love of ballet to dancers of all ages.
