💥10 reps of laying Hamstring Curls - focus on controlling the dumbbell between your feet.

🔹Things I wished I knew growing up

Learning to use the word NO can be life changing! Have you ever been put into a situation where someone wants you to go somewhere and your response is maybe? Next thing you know, you have anxiety building with the date approaching, and you just don’t want to go. Then you go and have a miserable time because you really just don’t want to be there. My question to all of you out there, why didn’t you just say no?

My advice to all of you out there, start using the word no. Try testing it out. It’s quite comically to see a person’s response when you say no. Start with baby steps. I usually have my clients start with responding to text messages with the word NO. The person on the receiving end of the text is usually dumbfounded and doesn’t get it. Using No is life changing!!

“No” – it’s a small word that packs a lot of power. It carries with it an invisible force that can make it feel like overly oppressive, or even like a dirty word. We’re often taught that saying “no” is a negative thing, that it hurts those around us and causes us to miss out on new, exciting opportunities. It’s no wonder so many people are uncomfortable saying it.

But the truth is, when you say “no,” you’re not saying “I hate you,” and you’re not insulting someone, you’re simply exercising your right to say “no.” Because it is a right, not a privilege.

The power of no
So, why do so many people have an issue telling someone else “no”? The truth lies not in the obvious – a need to please – but rather in the fact that some of us have the tendency to put others’ objectives above our own. Our inability to say “no” stems from the fact that we want to reassure and make others feel comfortable is a notion you need to shake, immediately. Being unable to say “no” is not only unfair to ourselves, but it can be unfair to the other person as well.
Disregarding our own feelings and needs seems like the unselfish thing to do. After all, we are taught to give, not take. But, just because it’s easier
to say “yes” doesn’t mean we should.

Losing weight doesn’t have to be difficult IF you start tracking your food intake. I tell my clients 3500 calories equates to 1 pound. That pound can go either way. A pound gained or a pound lost. A lot of people think they eat so little calories in a day, until they track their food. The things you learn from tracking your food is knowledge you will keep forever.

The chart in this post shows a calorie maintenance at 2300. In order to lose 1 pound a week, you would need a calorie deficit of 500 calories a day under your daily maintenance. Read this chart over and over. Really understand it.

The biggest struggle I have come across with my clients is getting through the weekend and not gaining. If you truly want to lose the weight, there can be no excuses. You need to do it and be done with it. There is no exception to the rule. It’s going to be a lot of saying no and people around you may get annoyed, but you have to do you! I promise you it won’t be a forever and you will be so happy with your results.

For those of you who are not looking to lose weight and wanting to lean, I suggest tracking your macros. Every coach/trainer out there has different equations they use. I’m not going to share my equations, but I will tell you this. EAT YOUR CARBS!!! Your protein intake should be high. Track your food and don’t overindulge on the weekends.
