The Viking state qualifiers and placers were recognized Monday afternoon at the Jasper City schools board meeting. Proud of these 10 young men and all they’ve accomplished this season!

Kortez Samuels was invited to represent the Vikings in the North/South All-Star duals this past weekend! It’s a great honor only given to seniors who are voted for and invited. Proud of Kortez and he represented us very well! Great job,senior!

The Vikings concluded their season this past weekend finishing as a team in 13th place. Kortez Samuels (138) was runner up and Leo Garcia(106) placed third. We took 10 guys (the most in the schools history) and many of those won matches at the tournament. This is a fantastic group of young men who continue to strive for greatness. We are going to miss our seniors but we know they are prepared for the future and will be incredible leaders in whatever they decide to do. 7 of our 10 qualifiers will return next season and we are excited for what the future holds. The off season has begun and we know these guys will continue to improve and push each other to be better everyday.

Kortez Samuels is your 2026 AHSAA 138 lb State Runner Up! Kortez is one of the most decorated wrestlers we have ever had in the program being a 3x finalist, 4x state medalist, a member of the duals state championship and traditional state championship his freshman year. There will never be another Kortez and we are proud of his growth and leadership through the years!

Leo Garcia is your 2026 AHSAA 6A 106 lb 3rd place wrestler! Great season!

Leo Garcia(106) wins 4-2 in the consolation finals and is your 6A 106 3rd place medalist! Incredible season Leo!

Congratulations to Leo Garcia as he is heading to the Consolation Finals tomorrow!

Chase Waits(175) loses 0-7 and has been eliminated from the tournament. Chase was injured last year before the state tournament but came back healthy this year and qualify again and win some matches at the state tournament. He keeps getting better and better and we’re excited to see what he does next season!

Jeremy Franks(157) loses by pin and is eliminated from the tournament. Jeremy is a bright spot wherever he is and became a valuable leader to our team. He’s gonna do great things beyond wrestling!

Neal Pendley(150) loses by pin and is eliminated from the tournament. Neal was one of the hardest workers in the room and that hard work is the reason he was a state qualifier. The junior will be back better than ever!

Keanu Anderson(144) loses by pin and has been eliminated from the tournament. Keanu came out of nowhere with his effort and intensity this season and he improved in dramatic fashion. Excited to see what he’s going to do next season!
