🏳️‍🌈The Austin Goldstars Soccer Club is an LGBTQ+ inclusive soccer club based in Austin, Texas, and is the longest-established LGBTQ+ club in Texas. It aims to provide a welcoming environment for players of all skill levels and backgrounds, promoting inclusivity and diversity within the sport. The club participates in various local and national competitions and often engaged in community events and outreach activities to support the LGBTQ+ community.

The Goldstars started in 2005 with a few players meeting up regularly in Zilker Park. They began playing in the Austin Men’s Soccer Association during the 2008-09 season. The Goldstars have been playing in AMSA for the last 15 years.

Here is a statement from Goldstars captain, Bobby Levinski:

“The Goldstars is appreciative of the Austin Men’s Soccer Association for providing us a home and safe space to play. We’ve had conflicts on the field in the past, but the league has always had our back and supported us.

Our goal is to create community through the love of soccer. We have players who are part of our Goldstars legacy from all walks of life—gay, straight, bi, men, women, transgender, nonbinary—even Republicans. If you can pass the ball and keep a positive attitude, then the rest is just soccer. Happy PRIDE!”

Another for AMSA’s division 4. This feature has been great especially since we have the inaugural All-Star Games coming on June 9th!

As we move forward into the summer and then fall seasons; we look to add more divisions to the AMSA Team of the Week all while setting the stage for future All-Star Games.

We’d like to take a moment to recognize the investment of time, attention, and effort that have gone into maintaining the best possible playing conditions at Onion Creek. We owe a huge thank you to David Lesher and our friends at Greenway Landscaping. They did a fantastic job improving and maintaining the complex.

The recent Rye Seed project was executed in an effort to combat the effects that the unpredictable Austin Weather can have on the fields. These photos are just a glimpse of how the fields have held up during recent cold fronts and down pours. The last photo shows the specific differences in the seeded and non seeded areas.

Special shout out to all of our teams as well as and all of their teams. You all contribute to keeping the fields clean and ready for your fellow players to use; for that we thank you 🙏🏼

Our fields are a priority for us at AMSA and we will continue to do what we can to provide the best possible conditions.
