OLD SKOOL TRAINING METHOD

World middleweight champion Marvelous Marvin Hagler perfects his form using that time honoured piece of equipment - the mirror. Nowadays too many use the mirror to show off. That’s not what it’s for. It’s purpose is to help you to see how you look to the opponent! The mirror allows you to put yourself in the opponent’s shoes. If you can see holes in your movement you can bet your last dollar a smart foe will see them too. Even after a couple of hundred years of boxing’s existence as an organised sport, the mirror remains a cheap and invaluable piece of equipment to any boxer - amateur or pro.

A big thanks to Neville Short’s Boxing Gym who travelled from East Maitland today to spar our BoxCamp fight team. They have a lot of talent amongst their boxers & I was extremely proud with how well our BoxCamp team went.

Nobody is ever there to hurt anyone, only better themselves & their sparring partner for competition. Sometimes punches get through & that’s boxing. It’s a physical sport & you have to be mentally prepared as well as train your body to withstand the pressure. Both teams showed a lot of respect for each other & shook hands at the completion of their sparring. It safe to say we have a strong boxing team we’re building for a big 2019 year ahead. 🥊
