Throwback to the FISSC Reserves election of 2015 🗳️
Reserve Team Manager 2015-16?
Sad to report that after 126 years in operation the Stratford Alliance is no more.
The league had four divisions just a decade ago, but has seen a steady decline ever since and never recovered post-COVID. Tonight, faced with further departures, clubs had little choice but to vote unanimously in favour of dissolving the historic competition 😢
FISSC would like to thank the departing league committee of Barry Cooke, Pat Bellew, Rich Law and Malcolm Cooke (yes, even you!) for all their efforts over the years; enjoy your retirement gentlemen 👏
Trips to the likes of Bearley, Blockley, Claverdon and Shipston will be fondly remembered, along with all the other local sides we’ve faced over the years, but both FISSC and FISSC Reserves look forward to competing next season in pastures new… 🔰
🏆 FISSC WIN NURSING HOME CUP 🏆
Two late goals look to have sealed dramatic turnaround for Kenilworth after Will Clark’s first half strike, but Glen Matthew equalises from the spot in stoppage time for FISSC to win 3-0 on penalties
It’s cup final day again, and like a TV show with a limited budget it’s the same opponents and same venue as the last two… Kenilworth Sporting beat FISSC on penalties in the RM Smith Cup final a fortnight ago, before dispatching Reserves 3-0 in last week’s Hospital Cup final. Will tonight’s Nursing Home Cup final have a different outcome for FISSC? Head down to Stratford Town for 7.30 kick-off to find out…
FISSC Veterans throw away 3-1 half-time lead to trail 5-3 against Bearley (welcome back Ben Sutton, Josh Minnesota Hensher 👋) before late comeback and Simon Collingwood’s last-gasp equaliser salvage 5-5 draw in final game of the season. Enjoy your summer 🌞
🥳 Happy 37th birthday to FISSC centre-half, egg man and professional northerner Jamie Aspinall (pictured left)
The Veterans are calling… 🤙
FISSC lose RM Smith Cup Final 4-3 on penalties after goalless stalemate with Kenilworth Sporting. Always a tough way to miss out on silverware, but a good display all the same.

FISSC reached the semi-final of the Nursing Home Cup on Saturday after smashing Central Ajax Reserves 9-0 with goals from… (there were seven of them) 👀
Meanwhile FISSC Reserves failed to overturn the first leg deficit in their cup clash with AFC Bromsgrove, losing 3-1 on aggregate in the Alun Rees Trophy.
A brace from Glen Matthew and a Mike Jefferson strike give FISSC 3-1 win over Bromsgrove - and hopefully break their spirit ahead of Saturday’s cup final second leg against FISSC Reserves! 🤞 Meanwhile Veterans take 3-1 half-time lead against Honington but ultimately lose 4-3 on a blustery Sunday morning at FISSC 💨
A debut goal for Mel Brook alongside a Lawrie Kendall strike sends FISSC two points clear at the top of Division 1 (albeit second-placed Kenilworth have 3 games in hand) meanwhile Division 2 champions elect FISSC Reserves are humbled 5-3 by Blockley.
Both sides now at home this afternoon (2.00 KO) due to waterlogged pitches at Alcester and Blockley
Glenn Danks hits a hat-trick for FISSC SuperVets against Ettington, but it finishes 4-4 in the over 50’s encounter
One for the purists as FISSC sides play out absorbing stalemate with few clear-cut chances... Full-Time: 0-0
Reserves 3-1 on penalties to reach Hospital Cup Final!
Congratulations to Reserves who finish top of Division 2 and go into next week’s inter-club Hospital Cup match buoyed by an unbeaten league record, a fantastic team spirit, and the recent discovery that a can of Thatchers pairs particularly well with the FISSC kit 🍻

Elliot Durbin hits a hat-trick in 6-0 derby demolition of Shottery, with other goals courtesy of Tommy Gardner, Glen Matthew and Leo Foreman 🔰
After some pretty torrential rain this week, finally some blue skies overhead for today’s 2.00pm kick-off against local rivals Shottery. The Avon may have burst its banks, but the FISSC pitch remains impeccable 👌
Mixed fortunes for FISSC today as Firsts are spanked 5-0 at Kenilworth, while Reserves look to have sewn up the Division 2 title, albeit not mathematically, with 7-0 hammering of Shipston Colts
Mirror scorelines for the second time this season as both sides win 3-1: First XI home to Central Ajax and Reserves away at Bearley 💪

🎄 Merry FISSCmas to all 🎅 No game tomorrow, both sides return to action Sat 6th Jan. See you in 2024…
Darren Mole’s late try looks to have clinched it for the First XI? 🤷♂️
Reserves take another giant stride towards the title with 4-0 win at 10-man Blockley, goals from George Lewis, Kye Stanley, Rich Foreman and Talib Bellamy.
Just a reminder, pre-season training starts this evening 7.30 on the grass at FISSC. New players welcome. Changing rooms open. Greens are in.
