Now is the time to get out on the water! If you don't have your own boat/kayak/SUP, here's how:
• If you've never tried, learn how to stand-up paddleboard (SUP) with Over Board Paddle and Fitness LLC (pictured here). Or join in a Sunset SUP or one of their floating yoga or fitness sessions.
• Rent a kayak or SUP through Blackwater Adventures at their Blackwater location. NEW: They now offer guided snakehead fishing by kayak! Or head to their location at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay (open to all, not just resort guests) for boats, jet skis, catamarans, kayaks, and more.
• Be part of a sail on the Skipjack Nathan of Dorchester, enjoy the breeze, and learn about our local oystering history.
• Cruise the river on a paddlewheeler with Choptank Riverboats at Su***de Bridge Restaurant. There are crab feast, lunch, and sightseeing cruises. See the schedule.
• Learn to wakeboard or wakesurf with the The Wake League, based at the Hyatt Chesapeake (open to all, not just resort guests).
• Check out Dorchester Tourism's newly updated Paddling Guide, with suggested routes for paddlers, plus places to launch in the county. Download it or order a hardcopy at bit.ly/2Bnh9gK
