Victory at Mid-State Kart Club! 🏆

We finally got a chance to return to our home track on Saturday. We pulled our old Ignite out of retirement and set to return it to its former glory, and we did just that.

Qualifying: P1

Prefinal: P1 > P2
A fun final lap battle with bossman Bobby Krug led to a gap of just 0.013 seconds coming to the line.

Final: P2 > P1
We fell to P3 on the start but worked back to the lead, and held onto it until the end.

A disappointing end to the Route 66 Sprint Series.

We ended up at Road America for the final round of the Route 66 Sprint Series. Coming into the weekend we stood in 11th for championship points and had hopes for a top 10. The weekend started off strong and we were P16 in practice 2 with more time to find, but we slowly started losing speed.

Qualifying: P26

Race 1: P26 > P28

Race 2: P28 > DNF (P38)
Got black flagged due to damage.

Final: P32 > P21 > P31
We had a great start and were picking off cars who were distracted with others, but once we spaced out, my pace really showed.

It’s unfortunate when a mechanical issue leads to pace losses like this, but we will tear into the kart and find the problem. We ended the series P14 in points.

Double Podium at Mid-State Kart Club! 🥈

We returned to my home track for only the third time this year for Round 4 of the Margay Ignite Challenge series. Although the results were a little short of what we were hoping for, I had a blast running the Ignite Senior and Ignite 100 Senior classes.

Ignite Senior

Qualifying: P10. We were battling setup issues kindly supplied to us by Practice 2, so we fell short.

Race 1: P10 > P5. We finally found the pace we were hunting for and were only hindered by other drivers.

Race 2: P6 > P4. Although we were severely underpowered all race, we still managed to steal P4 on the final lap. We will bounce back with a fresh Mike Gadberry Motorsports engine!

Ignite 100 Senior

Qualifying: P2. 🥈 We held the top spot until the final lap when wheelman Aidan Liber stole the top spot.

Race 1: P2 > P2. 🥈 Close battling with Aidan and a beautiful sunset led to a fantastic time on track.

Race 2: P1 > P2. 🥈 We started on pole and held the lead for most of the race but a beautiful pass and a mistake on my part led me just out of reach for the top spot.

I’m super grateful for the chance to run the Ignite 100 at my home track. Huge thanks to everyone who makes this possible!

Heading into race weekend with a solid showing in the points standings in Ignite Senior!

Consistency wins championships and James Mann has been a consistent contender all season long, with a podium finish at the season opener at 61 Kartways and last round at Autobahn. Heading to two tracks he’s won at the club level, Mann has a great shot at locking down the championship.

Lingering closely behind is Aidan Liber, who came to life last round at Autobahn with a win and runner-up finish. Heading to a track he knows well, he’s looking to close the gap to the top slot in the points.

Only 30 points back from Liber in third is Brody Strong, who has also fired up late in the season with his two best finishes of the season coming at Autobahn. He heads to MSKC as the reigning Ignite Senior track champion.

Team owner Bobby Krug rounds out the Top 5 after great performances at 61 Kartways and a win at Norway but bad luck at Autobahn with a mechanical failure leading to two 0 points finishes pushed him down the standings.

Our time at the Terry Sprague Memorial has come to an early end.

Following the win in my heat, I started P3 in my qualifier with top 3 going straight to the A-Main and 4-6 going to the LCQ. Sadly we lacked the pace and dropped all the way to 8th.

Huge thanks to Daniel Robinson and the team for putting me in such a capable car. I had a great time getting back on dirt and can’t wait to work with them again.

Prelim night at the Sprague is over.

Our heat did not go as planned, we started 1st and I got sent back to 3rd after a bad call on the start. I then got shuffled back to 7th.

We started P13 in our qualifier because of this, but this time went way better. I was slowly moving up and was in a P4 transfer spot when a red came out with 3 to go. Unfortunately a few mistakes on my end and a clean pass from a competitor led me to barely miss out on the A-Main with a P5 finish.

We will bounce back stronger tomorrow and hopefully lock into the main event!

The Terry Sprague Memorial is underway!

Last night was practice day and we spent plenty of time on track getting used to being on dirt again, and though I looped it around a few times early on, we are ready to go for tonight!

We stood 26th overall out of the 72 that practiced, but when the track slicked off we were unmatched. Watch the raw video below for a demonstration!
