After a year and a half of swimming side by side, I got to share Henry’s very last lesson before his big move across the country. During our last lesson, he showed off his brand-new skill of rolling onto his back and swimming, and I couldn’t be prouder. Week after week I’ve watched his bravery grow, from splashing into the water with hesitation to swimming with confidence and joy. Seeing his determination turn into real skills has been such a special journey, and I know he’s going to make waves wherever he goes. Henry, it has been an honor to teach you to swim!

We’re so proud to recognize Maddie as our Swimmer of the Month! This is Maddie’s second summer with Splish Splash, and her hard work and love for the water really shine. Maddie is now a confident, advanced swimmer who can jump in, tread water, float, and swim on her back to safely climb out of the pool. She has also mastered several strokes, including front crawl, backstroke, breaststroke, and elementary backstroke. Maddie’s progress shows how dedication and consistent practice can turn skills into confidence, and we can’t wait to see her continue to grow as a swimmer. Go Maddie!

We’re so proud to celebrate the progress Giovanni has made this past month in his swim lessons! His dedication, consistency, and willingness to try hard every swim lesson has led to some major accomplishments in his pool safety skills.

Giovanni has shown strong improvement in his near-wall survival skills — he’s now confidently holding his breath, turning around underwater, and reaching up for the wall. These are essential reflexes for safety, and he’s executing them with an impressive success rate.

He’s also been working on more advanced scenarios, like when he’s farther from the wall. Giovanni is learning to roll onto his back to float, regain control of his breathing, and safely navigate back to the edge. These skills take time and practice, and he’s making steady progress with every lesson.

Giovanni’s growth is a great example of how consistent practice and positive reinforcement can build both safety and confidence in young swimmers. We’re excited to see what he achieves next!

Every child learns to swim at their own pace. Some take off right away, others, like Anthony, build their confidence and skills steadily over time with consistency and positive reinforcement. Each lesson lays a foundation of strengthening muscles, building trust in the water, and developing skills that last a lifetime. What might look like small progress on the outside is actually a lot of hard work, coordination, and bravery happening under the surface. At Splish Splash, we believe in meeting kids where they are, so they can learn to love the water while they learn to swim. Progress happens when swimmers feel safe and supported in the pool. Learning to swim is a journey, not a race. Trust the process. Keep showing up. You’re giving your child a life-saving skill and that takes time, patience, and consistency. Let’s all give Anthony a HUGE congratulations as he continues to build strength with his independent swimming!

I am so excited to share the swimmer of the month in May, Dino. Dino is a very special swimmer at Splish Splash as our only non-Florida resident. I get to swim with Dino for one week, 2-3 times per year when he travels to Florida. Every time we reconnect I am so impressed with how much he has grown and improved. This most recent swim lesson week with Dino, he started swimming independently! He may be small, but he has so much enthusiasm and ambition for swimming! I can't wait to see what surprises Dino has for me next time he's in town!

As April comes to a close, I am so excited to share all of the amazing progress Ben has made so far this season! Ben has come so far since we started swimming together last summer. Ben knows how to float on his back independently, kick across the pool using the kick board, and hold his breath while he swims underwater. Let’s keep cheering Ben on this summer as he continues to work hard every swim lesson!

In March, Aria made such great improvements during swim lessons. During our time together we love to sing songs, splash our feet, and back float whenever air planes fly over our lesson. Aria's skills include pushing of the step to me, sliding into the pool going underwater, reaching and grabbing on to the edge, monkey crawling along the edge to the steps, and climbing out independently. This summer Aria will be working on back floats independently and using her kicks to come up to the surface of the water when submerged. Let's cheer her on this summer while she continues to thrive in swim lessons!
