We are incredibly proud of the Mapúa University Juniors Chess Team for their performance at the 5th FESSAP Chess Championships. It was a day of hard work and focus at the Malayan High School of Science, and our student-athletes truly rose to the occasion.

What a day! Yesterday’s tryouts were some of the most intense I’ve ever witnessed. The level of talent on the boards made our final decisions incredibly difficult, but the future of our program looks brighter than ever.

Yesterday at Robinsons Magnolia, our very own Vladimir Lait emerged as the CHAMPION of the 6th Noypi 1799 FIDE Rated Standard Chess Tournament!

Adding to our success, fellow Mapua Chess Team varsity player Kentrry Ryan Alipoon also secured the Top Junior award for the event. This is a massive achievement for the team and a testament to their hard work.
