St Asaph City U11 - 26/27

This morning we hosted CPD BODED U11’s at St Asaph Leisure Centre. Huge thanks to them for travelling over.

Boded showed their class and were levels above us in the first half. Our standards were below where they need to be, and we were punished for it.

In the second half, we pressed higher, showed more intensity and had more success. It’s only a pre-season friendly, but there are definitely lessons to be learnt, our standards need to be met from the first whistle.

🏆 POTM — Osian HB

Osian was strong, quick and won his battles today. He’s the ultimate team player — unselfish, hardworking and always willing to do the dirty work for the team.
There’s a reason he’s a serial tournament winner. 💪🏆

Lots to take away and lots to work on, but that’s exactly what pre-season is for. 💛🖤

MATCHDAY | Pentre Vikings

This morning we hosted Pentre Vikings U11s at St Asaph Leisure Centre.

Pentre brought their Veo along, which has given us the opportunity to watch the game back, analyse it and identify some really positive moments and areas where we can continue to improve. The match was played at a great level for local grassroots football, and although the scoreline didn’t go our way, there was plenty to be encouraged by.

We know we’re improving, but there’s still some way to go, and today was a positive reminder of that. We’ll keep working. 💪

A special mention to Mason, who was brilliant for Pentre. He cut out through ball after through ball and read the game brilliantly. Well done, Mason! 👏

⭐ Our Player of the Week was today’s captain, Harry Hughes.

Harry gave absolutely everything. He was everywhere, battled for every ball and really stepped up to lead the team in Oscar H’s absence.

We dust ourselves down, take the positives, learn from the game and get ready to be back in action on Tuesday.

MATCHDAY | CPD Y Rhyl U12

On Sunday, we hosted CPD Y Rhyl U12 at St Asaph Leisure Centre. Thank you for coming over, and all the very best for the new season ahead.

The boys are really starting to gel together, and the quality of football being produced is beyond what we expected at this stage. Even with players missing, we continue to keep the standards high, and everyone played their part in a fantastic team performance.

👏 Sam was voted Player of the Week.

His calmness when playing out from the back and his discipline were there for all to see. When Sam is at it, he’s a real asset to us.

This morning we were back at the fantastic facilities at Ty Canol, continuing to give the boys the best environment to learn and develop our new style of play. 💛🖤

It was a really positive morning against a team playing a year up. The boys passed with purpose, showed great bravery on the ball, and produced some passages of play that genuinely left parents and coaches in awe. It was fantastic to watch and incredibly rewarding to see everything we’ve been working on starting to come together.

There were plenty of Player of the Week nominations, but Luay was at the heart of everything. His close control, vision and decision-making were outstanding all morning. He always seemed to make the right choice at the right time and was a huge influence on the game.

A brilliant performance, Luay, thoroughly deserved. 👏⭐💛🖤

💛🖤 MATCH REPORT | LLANFAIRFECHAN 🖤💛

Today we travelled over to Llanfairfechan, a team we’ve played every pre-season. They’re a fantastic club with a bright future, and coach Dan puts everything into developing his players. Thanks for hosting us and best of luck for the season ahead.

With several players away, everyone who travelled enjoyed plenty of minutes on the pitch.

It was Teddy and H who really caught the eye. Teddy even spending a quarter of the game at centre-back and looking completely at home. H controlled the midfield throughout, dictating the tempo, winning the ball back and making us tick. Both were outstanding today.

Shoutout to Henry H, back into goal scoring form with a hatrick!!

There were plenty of positives all over the pitch, with the lads continuing to grow in confidence and understanding as we prepare for the new season.

Another valuable run-out, more minutes in the bank, and another step in the right direction. 💛🖤🔥
