An International Basketball League Team, located in Orlando, FL.
Based in Vancouver, WA, The IBL enters its 10th year of league play in 2012 and continues to provide a "stepping stone" for players desiring to play overseas. Acting as an independent "D-League" (Development League) roughly 70% of all players will find there way overseas to further their professional
careers. The IBL season runs from April through Early July and consists of ten teams:
Bellingham
Slam
Edmonton Energy
Jersey G-Force
Nippon Tornadoes
Olympia Reign
Orlando Venom
Portland Chinooks
Salem Soldiers
Vancouver Volcanoes
Yamhill High Flyers
These rules have resulted in an average points per game just over 115.0 per team. This is nearly 20 points higher than an average NBA team and in-line with the NBA's single season record of points per game set by the Denver Nuggets in 1981-82. The IBL teams are owned and operated independently by those who have a love for the game and a desire to give back to the community at large. Community outreach, mentoring programs, and the development of young men are the hallmarks of the league's desire to continue as the top International minor league system for player development in North America. Notable alumni include: Byron Russell, Dennis Rodman, Tim Hardaway, Toby Bailey, Fred Vinson, Lamond Murray, and Shawn Kemp.
