Happy Birthday to a Coach Chuck who pours countless hours into this sport and believes in these kids more than they'll ever truly know. Your dedication, encouragement, and commitment make a lasting impact both on and off the mat. We hope you have an amazing birthday and know how much you're appreciated! 💪🏻🎉

Huge shoutout to these girls for the way they competed this weekend at the Summer Scuffle!

Thank you to the coaches from Baker Wildcat Women's Wrestling coaches (Cherry Bombs And Wildcat Elite) and the Rough Rider coaches for having these 3 on your teams.

This was our first year attending the Summer Scuffle, and what an amazing experience it was. The competition was tough, the atmosphere was incredible, and our athletes had the opportunity to challenge themselves against some outstanding wrestlers from across the region.

Gracie's team battled their way to a 4th-place finish in the Silver Bracket, and she put together an impressive 7-2 individual record.

Blythe's team finished 4th in the Gold Bracket, and she fought hard every match on her way to a 4-5 record.

Amlin's team also competed in the Gold Bracket, and Amlin finished the weekend with a 4-5 record while facing some very tough competition.

As a coaches, we couldn't be more proud of the effort, toughness, and heart these girls displayed throughout the weekend. They found themselves in several close matches, faced some high-level opponents, and never backed down from a challenge. While not every match ended in our favor, the growth that comes from those hard-fought battles is priceless.

What stands out the most is their willingness to learn. They understand where mistakes were made, they're eager to improve, and they'll use these experiences to become even better athletes. The wins are great, but the lessons learned, confidence gained, and resilience built are what will carry them forward.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the Summer Scuffle such a great event. We had an incredible time, gained valuable experience, and made memories that will last a lifetime. We are already looking forward to hopefully returning next year!

The work doesn't stop here—back to the grind. Proud of these girls and excited to see what the future holds for them. 💚💗🤼‍♀️

What a great weekend of wrestling and growth for the Lucas girls! Makena had the honor of representing Kansas Team 2 at the Freeco USA Elementary Duals and gained a ton of valuable mat time against some outstanding competition. She finished the weekend with an impressive 5-1 record in Greco and 2-4 in Freestyle, battling hard every match and continuing to improve. Gracie stepped up in a big way, filling in for an Oklahoma team on Saturday and even wrestling up two weight classes in the 120 lb bracket, despite normally competing at 105 lbs. She showed incredible toughness and determination, finishing 2-2 in Greco on Saturday and 4-2 in Freestyle today while taking on bigger opponents than usual. The wins are great, but the lessons learned, experience gained, and opportunities to compete against high-level wrestlers are what make weekends like this so valuable. We couldn't be more proud of the effort, heart, and grit these girls showed on the mat. A huge thank you to the Kansas Team coaches for giving these girls the opportunity to compete and represent Team Kansas. The future is bright, and we're excited to keep building!

These wrestlers are building something every day that life can’t teach—discipline, toughness, grit, and resilience. The work they put in now will carry them far beyond the mat 🔥💪🏻

Baker Freestyle Frenzy 2026 🔥💪🏻

Super proud of our kids and the effort they showed today. The results may not have been exactly what some of them were hoping for, but wrestling is about so much more than wins and losses.

Every one of them stepped onto the mat, competed hard, and challenged themselves against tough competition. They battled through adversity, learned valuable lessons, and represented our program with heart, toughness, and character. As a coach, that's something to be proud of.

Success in this sport isn't measured by a single tournament or a medal. It's built through countless hours in the practice room, pushing through difficult workouts, and continuing to improve when things don't go your way. This weekend gave us plenty to celebrate and plenty to learn from.

Now it's time to get back to work. We'll take what we learned, make the necessary adjustments, and continue building toward our goals. The journey continues, and I have no doubt this group will keep growing, improving, and coming back stronger.

Proud of every one of these athletes. Keep your heads up, stay hungry, and trust the process. "The chaos has just begun, and the storm is coming. Back to work." 💪🌪️🤼‍♂️
