In 2021 my wife Cyndee said since our race is in October, which is breast cancer awareness month, we should make pink and white checkered flags for the races. In honor of Cyndee's mom and SO many others not only did we change all of the checkered flags to pink and white but all our our marketing material and even the trophy's have pink and white checkered flags and ribbons. What teams will get a coveted pink and white checkered flag next October 9th - 12th 2025 when the roar returns to Fort Myers beach?!?

Tough decision but the right call by the Race World Offshore staff. We are all to familiar with having to make these decisions. Everybody please stay safe and prepare NOW for the pending storm.
Race World Offshore regrets to announce that, due to Pinellas County being under a State of Local Emergency and the temporary closure of Sand Key Park in response to the forecasted impacts from Tropical Storm Helene, we have no choice but to cancel this weekend's Clearwater Nationals Event. The safety and well-being of our participants, spectators, and staff are our utmost priority. Unfortunately, due to permitting and logistical challenges, this event will not be able to be rescheduled. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this challenging time. **Press Release**
**FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE**
**Roar Offshore Fort Myers Beach Powerboat Races 2024 Postponed Due to Infrastructure Concerns**
Fort Myers Beach, FL – 3-19-24 - The organizers of the Roar Offshore Fort Myers Beach Powerboat Races regret to announce that the event, scheduled for October 11th – 13th, has been postponed due to concerns regarding the areas infrastructure post Ian.
After careful evaluation, it was determined that many aspects of the event's infrastructure, such as dry & wet pits, parking, and lodging require additional attention and preparation to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all participants. As such, the decision was made to postpone the event to October of 2025.
"We understand the disappointment this may cause, but the safety and quality of the event are paramount," said Tim Hill, President of Roar Offshore. “Being full-time residents of this resilient community, we understand the importance of an event such as Roar Offshore to help in the return to normalcy. Unfortunately the land, docks, and lodging needed for this large scale multi-day event just are not in place.”
We appreciate your understanding and continued support of Roar Offshore Fort Myers Beach Power Boat Races. For further information and updates, please visit www.roaroffshore.com or follow us on Facebook.
