Lighting up Tennent’s East Region Leagues since 1978 Whilst EUMRFC is first and foremost a rugby club, it also has a strong social side.

Re-established in 1978 EUMRFC has since established itself as one of the top medical school rugby clubs in the United Kingdom. Playing in the distinctive medical school colours of red, yellow and maroon (supposedly to represent blood, pus and liver) the men of EUMRFC pride themselves on their brand of free flowing and expressive rugby. With over 50 current members and an extensive list of alumni,

A big thanks to Alice from CERT and Strutsafe who we hosted on Monday evening for a really interesting talk. A number of important topics were discussed including safe s*x, consent, r**e culture, s*xual assault and spikings.

It was really helpful for us to improve our awareness and understanding of such important and potentially harmful social issues. Everyone has a responsibility to educate themselves and in turn help put an end to s*xual assault.

We encourage every society and sports club to organise these highly informative talks, as I think we all learned something new! And please support CERT and Strutsafe as they are two great charities that are making a huge impact.

EUMRFC Statement

At Medic’s Rugby, we fully support the GirlsNightIn movement, and encourage everyone in Edinburgh to boycott clubs on Thursday 28th October. This is to demonstrate that spikings are completely unacceptable, and force venues to recognise that they need to take action to increase the safety of individuals in nightclubs, in light of recent events.

Please take a look at and follow the pages below on Instagram to show your support, spread awareness and educate others as well as yourselves! There is also a petition so that wider changes can hopefully be made to increase safety in nightclubs, through more thorough searches on entry. Attached are some useful help pages from Crew on spiking safety.

We hope everyone stays safe and takes care of each other!

March Report : EUMRFC v Edinburgh Northern RFC 04/09/2021

An excellent, competitive game to kick off the season. It was, however, an unfortunate loss with a score of 27-17 to Edinburgh Northern.

Points on the board came from two excellent tries from David Bourne and a smashing try from James Harper, with Jack Baker scoring a conversion.

MOTM: Adam Fidler
DOTD: Morgan Bruce

It was a superb effort with some hard tackles from everyone on the pitch, giving us a positive outlook for the season ahead. Thanks again to Edinburgh Northern RFC for a great game to start the season.

And we’re back! We are absolutely thrilled to have our first game back today taking on Edinburgh Northern RFC.
As the first game of the season as well as the first game since early 2020 we are ecstatic to get out on the pitch. Will be an excellent game at Inverleith Park to kick off rugby once again!

Hello and welcome to everyone joining Edinburgh University this year! If you are looking to have a spectacular time at university while playing some good quality rugby, Edinburgh Medics Rugby is the club for you! Everyone is welcome, from experienced players to those who haven't ever picked up a ball. Even if you aren't wanting to play, we have exclusive social members in the club!

Our rugby calendar is looking very exciting, with our regional league commensing very soon, as well as cup matches. Not to mention the return of the infamous SNIMS! There is plenty of opportunity to develop your skills in weekday training sessions and weekend matches. We can't wait to wipe the dust off of our boots for the coming season!

Our club has players from all 6 years of Medicine, including players studying other courses. We are a family not just on the pitch, and not just at social events. With older years who have gone through it all, we more than happy to help those in younger years through their studies and student life.

With an immensely fun-packed social calendar ahead, there will never be a dull moment in the club. We have the club's traditional "Big Four" events coming up, along with SNIMS and, most importantly, the yearly EUMRFC European Tour!

Being one of the top medical school rugby clubs in the country, as well as one of the largest medics sports clubs in the University, we can't wait to see the new faces to the club.

If you are interested in joining us, we will be hosting a Meet and Greet in freshers' week on the Meadows (date tbc)! If you have any questions at all, please drop us a message.
