Many bodybuilding fans consider Ronnie Coleman one of the greatest physiques ever, but Jay Cutler believes nobody shocked him more than Lee Priest when he was just 21 years old.
Cutler recalled seeing the young Australian bodybuilder in the gym and being completely amazed. He said he looked at Lee and wondered, “How is that even possible?” According to Cutler, Lee's muscle size, especially his legs, was unlike anything he had ever seen before.
Lee Priest was known for carrying an incredible amount of muscle at a young age. His legs were so huge that Cutler joked he could barely walk. Even though Priest later changed his physique and became slightly smaller during his professional career, his early look left a lasting impression on everyone who saw him.
For Jay Cutler, who competed against some of the biggest names in bodybuilding history, young Lee Priest remains one of the most unbelievable physiques the sport has ever seen.

Eight-time Mr. Olympia Lee Haney believes that modern bodybuilding has become too focused on size. Today, many fans and competitors talk about body weight and how big a bodybuilder is. However, Haney says bodybuilding is about much more than just being the biggest person on stage.
During his era, judges looked for a complete physique. A small waist, wide shoulders, balanced legs, and well-developed calves were all important parts of a champion's look. Bodybuilders were expected to have symmetry, balance, and muscle maturity, not just massive size.
Haney pointed out that he competed at 254 pounds while maintaining a very small 31.5-inch waist. This gave him the classic V-taper that made his physique stand out. According to Haney, even though many bodybuilders today are bigger, very few can match that combination of size, shape, and proportion.
His message is simple: bodybuilding is an art as much as a sport. The goal should not be to see who can become the biggest. Instead, the best bodybuilder is the one who displays the most complete package of muscle maturity, symmetry, balance, and stage presentation. As Haney puts it, bigger does not always mean better.
