🏓 Mixed Doubles Open – Portobello High School 🏓

What a day of high-intensity pickleball at the Lothian Pickleball Mixed Doubles Open!

After some fantastic pool play, the standings were:

Carly & Martyn
Nimeesha & Sam
Louise & Paul
Mohammed & Nicole

There were some brilliant battles throughout the day, including a closely fought contest for 5th place where Davide & Tracey came out on top after great games against Calum & Gayle and Andrew & Sally.

In the semi-finals, Carly & Martyn defeated Mohammed & Nicole, while Nimeesha & Sam overcame Louise & Paul to set up an exciting final.

Mohammed & Nicole showed great resilience to bounce back from their semi-final loss and secure the bronze medal.

The final was a fantastic contest, with Nimeesha & Sam mounting a strong comeback, but Carly & Martyn held their nerve when it mattered most to take the title. 🏆

A huge thank you to everyone who took part in another excellent event in our Scottish Open Preparation Series. Best of luck to all players competing in the Scottish Open!

🏓 Women’s Singles League – Round 2

Round 2 is almost here! After an incredible opening round, the big question is — will we see the same champion defend her crown, or will a new contender rise to the top? 👀🏆

Expect more great matches, competitive games, and a fantastic league atmosphere throughout the round.

🏓 High-level Men’s 4.0 Doubles action at Queen Margaret University today with some fantastic pickleball on display throughout the competition.

Adam & Charlie dominated the group stages, conceding only 7 points across 5 matches, while Martyn & Roger stayed close behind. Callum & Joey showed why they’re such a dangerous force at the net and definitely a pair to watch at the Scottish Open 👀 Andy & Sam secured the final semi-final spot on countback.

Nick & Magnus edged out Paul & Stevie 11–10 in a thrilling 5th place playoff, before the semi-finals brought even more drama. Martyn & Roger defeated Callum & Joey 15–4, while Andy & Sam produced a huge performance to overcome the unbeaten Adam & Charlie 15–13.

Adam & Charlie bounced back to claim bronze with a 15–9 win over Callum & Joey 🥉

The final was a brilliant battle, with Martyn & Roger making a key tactical switch at 10–9 that helped them pull away and defeat Andy & Sam 15–9 to take gold 🥇

A fantastic day of competition, teamwork, and quality pickleball in Edinburgh 👏🏓

🏓 Women’s 4.0 Doubles brought fantastic energy and high-level pickleball to Queen Margaret University today, with strong teams travelling from across the West and North to compete for gold.

The group stages were incredibly tight, with Louise & Nicole, Jacqui & Sue, and Nic & Nimeesha all finishing on 4 wins, while the Claires completed a very strong final four lineup.

In the semi-finals, Jacqui & Sue produced a dominant performance to defeat Nic & Nimeesha, while Louise & Nicole impressed with a strong win over the Claires.

The bronze medal match went right down to the wire, with Nic & Nimeesha edging out the Claires 12–10 in a thrilling battle for 3rd place 🥉

That set up a fantastic final where Louise & Nicole gained revenge for their earlier pool play loss, delivering an outstanding performance to defeat Jacqui & Sue and take home the gold medal 🥇

A brilliant day of competition, sportsmanship, and high-quality rallies throughout. Well done to all players who travelled to Edinburgh and helped make the event such a success! 👏🏓

Congratulations to Charlie Dembrey on an incredible unbeaten performance, conceding no sets throughout the entire league campaign! 🏆👏

Charlie’s level throughout the competition was simply outstanding, setting the standard from start to finish and leaving everyone else battling it out for 2nd place. 💪🎾

A dominant display and a fully deserved champion! 👑
