Event #6, sponsored by the Adirondack Family of Businesses, is complete! 🎬

We decided to change things up for the kids and held a stableford style scoring event where certain scores on holes give you points and the highest point total wins!! It allows you to have a bad hole 😠 and not dwell on it, as you don’t lose any points, and move on in search of the next great shot or score on a hole! 😃 Confused yet, some the kids were at first, but they got it in the end and we had some great, close results!

In our 13-15 White Division, we did bogey=1, par=2, birdie=4 and eagle=8 points. Coming out on top with a solid score of an 11 and having to make a tough 3-4 footer on #9 West, to gain a 2 point par and jump from 2nd to 1st, was Elliot Stone just edging out Evan Payne who amassed a total of 10 points. In our pin seeker 🎯 contest, Tanner Andrews lasered in a shot to 7 feet to take closest to the pin honors on hole #2 West.

13-15 White Division results:
1st-Elliot Stone (11)
2nd-Evan Payne (10)
3rd-Tanner Andrews (9)
4th-Jaxx Wenzel (6)

In our 11-13 Red Division we adjusted it a bit as this group isn’t as consistent as the older group yet so we went double bogey=1, bogey=2, par=4, birdie=8 and the rare eagle 🦅 would’ve been 12 points. We had another close finish where 4th to 2nd all came down to 1 putt on the last green! Carsyn Southworth came out firing🔥 and beat out Frankie Tremblay by a couple points in the end. In this divisions closest to the pin challenge, Collette Vanier dropped a dart 🎯 to 12’5” and took the top honors on #2 West.

11-13 Red Division results:
1st-Carsyn Southworth (11)
2nd-Frankie Tremblay (9)
3rd-Kade Hardy (8)
4th-Lincoln Ashline (7)

And last but not least is our talented group “scrambling” in our 8-10 Team Division. This young group has really caught the eyes of some of the membership at the club that are up there playing on Mondays, and it shows the future is bright for golf in the area for many years to come! This group had 3 teams battling it out for top honors🥇and we scored them as bogey=1, par=2, birdie=4 and an eagle 🦅 would’ve been 8 points. This group came down to last hole as well but the team of Kade Marshall, Nicholas Stover, Miles Pannhurst and Wesley Martin took the crown 👑 with a score of 9 over their 6-holes. We didn’t have anyone from this group hit the green in the closest to the pin challenge but we are going to award a couple prizes to 2 kids who nailed down birdies for their team, both on hole #2. Kinnon Mitchell cashed in a 47 foot putt for his team to record a 4 point birdie but his crew came up 1 point short to Miles Pannhurst’s team as Miles casually 🥱 chipped in a shot from about 30 yards for the bird 🐦 which helped solidify his teams 1 point victory! Great shots boys!! ⛳️

Thanks again to the Adirondack Family of Businesses for sponsoring our Stableford week and thanks to all the sponsors who chipped in this season, to make this a league that will grow for years to come!

We have 1 week to go and will be doing a shotgun start for our final event where all the kids/teams are on course at once and we will be having some team scrambles to end on a fun note, with some food and prizes in The Grille Room to follow. Also, a huge thanks to Scott Delair and his crew at The Malone Golf Club for allowing us to play on Monday nights for the past couple months. We truly cannot do this for the kids without their support and generosity! 🏌️‍♂️ 🏌️‍♀️ 🏌️ ⛳️

Event 🖐️ sponsored by Justin Brown - Real Estate Broker and Let’s Move Realty LLC is in the books. The weather looked like a repeat of the previous week but the 🌞 peaked out right before the groups started and it turned out to be a great night! 😎

In our 13-15 White division we had our youngest competitor Elliot Stone take out the field with a great score of 40 on the front West Course. Elliot was also able to earn closest to the pin honors as well on #2 West with a shot to 21 feet. Congrats Elliot!! 🏌️‍♂️

13-15 White division:
1st-Elliot Stone (40)
2nd-Laivin Seguin (48)
3rd-Colton Walfield (49)
4th-Leo Babbie (52)

Next up in our 11-13 Red Division, we had a tight race 🏁 for our top 3 prizes and that division continues to stay pretty competitive each week with the top spot changing hands weekly. Congrats to one of the younger competitors, Louis Tremblay from Tupper Lake, for taking the top spot with a 50 on the challenging front East Course. He edged out Lincoln Ashline by a couple shots. Our pin seeker award goes to Carsyn Southworth who knocked it to 67’ on the “harder than it looks” #6 East. Congrats to Louis and Carsyn! 🏌️‍♂️

11-13 Red division:
1st-Louis Tremblay (50)
2nd-Lincoln Ashline (52)
3rd-Frankie Tremblay (56)
4th-Carsyn Southworth (58)
5th-Cole Halavin (62)

And last, but certainly not least, our 8-10 Team Division rounds out our results for event #5. We had the Massena/Malone contingent of Judah and Levi Laramay, Noah Poupore and Kole Hardy conquer 1-6 East with a 3-over round of 26 with a fantastic birdie on the last hole after Noah Poupore knocked it to 6’7” to earn closest to the pin award for the night. I know, I know we had a 67’ and 6’7” for two of the CTP winners. Cue up the 6 7 references! IYKYK!! 🤷‍♂️

Two ✌️weeks to go in our season and we will look to change things up with a Stableford style scoring system for next week followed by the league finale the week after. Thanks again to Justin Brown and Let's Move Realty LLC for the sponsorship. We cannot do all the fun stuff without the sponsors each week!! 💪 ⛳️

Just an update for tonight that we are canceling league play due to the rainy weather seeming to want to stay locked in on the North Country! We had built in a week for a rain delay, so we will push this week out to a later date. Just wanted to make sure everyone was notified as SportsEngine messages were sent out but sometimes people miss those messages. Thanks and see you next Monday.

Event ✌️in the books and we had another great turnout. Last night’s event was sponsored by the Hoffman Eells Group. We could not do this without our sponsors so golf claps 👏 👏 👏 for Hoffman Eells Group and all of our event sponsors.

Our 8-10 year old team golf group had another tight finish on the hilly and difficult front East. They played a 5-hole loop of 1-4 East and finished on #6 East to get their cracks at the closest to the pin on that short, but tricky, par 3. The team of Brocsten Clark, Kade Marshall and Kinnon Mitchell pulled off the 1 stroke victory with a score of 23. Closest to the pin for that group was Judah Laramay with 135’ to the pin. Pin was in the back and it’s a very big green and their group navigated those treacherous putts well! Congrats to all the 8-10 group winners.

Our 11-13 red tee group saw vast improvements in scores from week 1 to last night. We are really trying to get the kids just starting out playing their own ball, into the habits of taking their time, proper etiquette and creating good golf habits. Top 5 honors go to:

1 - Lincoln Ashline (50)
2 - Louis Trembly (52)
T3 - Frankie Tremblay (54)
T3 - Kade Hardy (54)
5 - Mason Stover (58)
Closest to the pin #6 East - Kade Hardy (24’)

Our oldest level, 13-15 white tee group, had the kids slaying the hilly front 9 East course and they came out with some solid scores. The top 5 scores for that group were:

1 - Elliot Stone (43)
2 - Tanner Andrews (44)
3 - Blake Perry (47)
4 - Colton Walfield (49)
5 - Jaxx Wenzel (50)
Closest to the pin on #6 East: Kellan Marlow (16’)

Thanks again to our sponsor last night, Hoffman Eells Group, and all the volunteer markers that take the kids out onto the course each week and help them through the fun, and sometimes complicated, game of golf. The future is strong and we can’t wait to see where the kids can take their games moving forward. Keep swinging!! 🏌️‍♂️ 🏌️‍♀️ ⛳️

⛳️ Night 1 in the books for our Malone Jr. Golf “advanced” leagues. We ended up with 3 divisions for this season…our 13-15 year old group, playing 9 holes from the white tees each week, our 11-13 year old group, playing 9 holes from the red tees each week and our 8-10 year old team division, which will play 4-6 holes each week, depending on the event format chosen.

Event #1 was sponsored by the Lady Muckers Golf League.🏌️‍♀️We cannot do this alone and having an event sponsor each week allows us to “pay out” our winning golfers/teams, with a variety of prizes. We are also able to run extra contests like closest to the pins, long drives, etc to keep the kids battling and engaged even when the occasional bad hole pops up. We’ve all been there and have hopefully learned to keep going and that is half of what this league is about! There is no giving up!!

Results from event #1:

13-15 white tees:
1st place - Tanner Andrews (41)
2nd place - Evan Payne (44)

11-13 red tees:
1st place - Chael Johnson (56)
2nd place - Lincoln Ashline (57)

8-10 team division:
2 teams ended with a score of 24 (+5) after their 5-hole, 4-person scramble/captain and crew event. Even after a thrilling OT shootout from 75 yards, the teams were still tied. Instead of lining up vehicles with their lights on to extend the playoff into dark, we made the executive decision to declare co-champions for event #1!

Winning teams:

Brocsten Clark
Harper Ashline
Carter Legacy
Kole Hardy

Nicholas Stover
Kinnon Mitchell
Miles Pannhurst
Judah Laramay

Closest to the pin on Hole #2 West:

13-15 white tees - Tanner Andrews with an approach to 15’4”

11-13 red tees - Lincoln Ashline with an approach to 8’6”

8-10 team division (red tees) - Kole Hardy with an approach to 8’1”

If you stayed and followed the groups around, I know you were treated to some great golf shots and tons of smiles and fun. If you were able to capture any pictures, feel free to share in the comments. We look forward to our 2nd event on 7/20 sponsored by The Hoffman Eells Group. Thanks again to all of our participants and volunteers. It’s all about the kids and last night proved it.
