Hi , You guys.
I am involved in a campaign to clean up the River Colne in Halstead. The environment agency have told me that it would help for the work to be done if they could see Halstead Residents contributing towards the costs. So, I am asking people to pledge money for this. In the event that the work gets done I will be asking you to turn your pledge into cash and pay in to a special fund at Lloyd’s Bank. If there are a few millionaires out there who could donate a few thousand, this would definitely help.

A message for all you guys involved with Walking Football, concerning RUNNING!!!

Last week in a session lasting one and a half hours and fifteen players I must have blown around 30 times for running. I also sin binned 6 players for repeated running.

Now I have looked at many videos on You Tube of Walking Football matches, and have to state that in every match, there is running which is not being penalised.
In one game, I saw 7 instances of running in 2 minutes which went unpunished. In the Albufeira Tournament shown on You Tube , there is lots of running.

In fact, I have yet to witness a game where there is no running.
This is making a mockery of the term Walking Football, and I would like to know what action clubs are taking to cut this out. I have never seen a game at true walking pace!

I regret to say that Fred, our goalkeeper for 3 years has had to hang up his boots at the age of nearly 80.
It was great having Fred play with us, and we all send him our best wishes for the future.

First League games to be played 1st Feb.

It seems that we may have 3 or 4 teams to start the Halstead Indoor Walking Football League on 1st February.
Will give further details when possible.

Having returned from Australia, I am getting round to organise the Halstead Indoor 5 a side League which will start on Thursday 1st Feb. This will be for over 50,s and will be 5 a side. Each team will play several 10/15 minute games throughout the evening. We have the Hall from 8-10pm
Costs will be £3 per person, and you can bring a squad of
Up to 9 players. It will not be every week, but every 4 weeks.
I hope also to create a Halstead League representative side. Can you please share this message on Facebook as I want to get as many people as possible involved. John
