SWI Racing

On behalf of the entire team at SWI Racing I just wanted to clear the air with regards to some recent developments that have seen the V35 withdraw from a number of upcoming high-profile events, including the Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic at Premier Speedway, Warrnambool.
Those in attendance will recall a racing incident we were involved in at Max’s Race at Premier Speedway back on December 13, 2025. This incident was significant due to the violent nature of the crash, taking an impact on both our equipment and myself as the driver.
This came on the back of multiple similar impacts during our travels to Darwin earlier in the year with the side-effects being similar to those I experienced following a crash at Avalon Raceway in late 2024, which also resulted in our withdrawal from the 2025 Australian Sprintcar Championship at Murray Bridge.
While we were able to continue to race over the Christmas – New Year, the lingering effects of the crash are not improving, impacting now on daily work and family tasks that are usually very simple to complete.
I am fully aware that this will jeopardize our potential defense of Track Championship’s at both Avalon Raceway and Premier Speedway, however my health and my family are the number one priority at this time.
Despite industry interest, speculation and unfortunately rumour, my inability to feel healthy enough to compete is the one and only reason I have made the difficult decision to stay out of the car for the immediate future.
As I have always said, if there is one race a year that we not only want to race in, but also win, it is the Classic at what is my home track.
While we wish all the venues and competitors the very best for what is an exciting period of racing, my focus will be on returning to full health so that we can be back on track at the earliest possible time. How long that is, we are unsure at the moment.
